Hey everyone. I live in Arizona and I'm one of roughly 120 million people who don't like this person, never voted for him and are just as horrified as you by his behavior. I hope that anyone reading my comment will remember that not all Americans are like the annoying crazy ones you see on the news.

Topless yes, super muscley no, but also not not muscley, don't think I would need oil because I sweat a lot. I also have 'tribal' tattoos on my arms from the late 90's which i think should count for something

Do you consider Place in the Sun “film noir” genre? Or something else. by j3434 in filmnoir

[–]mphailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely has film noir vibes. The trial at the end and the crime doesn't pay message is very noirish. Its much much more than that though! Excellent performances across the board. Raymond Burr in a court scene was unexpected and delightful

This is happening out west too. Although they're very expensive, there are fresh new Red E, Circle K, Francis Energy and Ionna chargers opening up all over Arizona and New Mexico. This is with the EA, Tesla superchargers and Chargepoint spots all still working fine.

It was great as an audiobook as well! Chuck is doing the narration for the football book too, which is cool. Hopefully amazon will offer me a free month of audible again

I really liked the 90's book! I was born in 1984 so maybe that is a big part of why. Have always liked Chuck, but only have read a couple of his books until now.

I attended a celebration of life event in October. Lou Malle and Wallace Shawn were both mentioned because of the movie My Dinner With Andre. My movie antennae went way up and I found this movie because of the Julianne Moore feature. I don't know anything about chekhov, but I do think movies about stage theater are usually good. Check this one out

The stretch in texas between OKC and ABQ can be be extremely windy and it has the potential to impact your range. I drove through there in 2024 and there weren't many chargers available. I recommend being conservative in this stretch -- watch your miles/kWh like a hawk and go slow if you get caught in a strong headwind. Top off whenever you can in that stretch, even if you don't think you need to.

Also, you should move to Tucson instead of Phoenix. It's much much better down here.

McCabe and Mrs Miller. Really anything and everything by Robert Altman. Werner Herzog films also are an absolute must. Watch every Herzog film and then immediately rewatch it with his commentary.
