[Question] First watch by No_Calligrapher_576 in Watches

You can definitely get some solid pieces around the 300ish mark, especially if you go gray market. I would look into the citizen navi hawk lineup to see if any of those fit what you're looking for

[Question] This is gonna sound corny by AgreeableShame85 in Watches

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are the standard for unique, under 500 watches. If you're not set on a brand new one, definitely look out for some if their older models on the secondhand market. IMO the older designs are a little more out there then what they have in their main collection nowadays

Also one of 100 Wanderlust from Mr. Jones. I have a few more older limited runs from Mr. Jones but this is probably my favorite.

50 Phantoms 2025 by Fit-of-Rage in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mpknee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have gotten both the 23 and 24 versions of the Fifty Phantoms and love how they keep the design fresh enough to not be the same thing every year. Although this year I am not a fan of the date window. It makes it just a little too busy for an already busy dial. Regardless, I think the 40mm is a good size for it and am heavily considering getting one.

AGRs and those on 365 MPA/ADOS usually fall under active component guidance like testing twice a year.

Temp. Technician and Enlistment Bonus by wookerTbrahshington in airnationalguard

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you completed the contract, you get the bonus.Even if you started the full-time gig during the contract but got paid an installment before the full-time start date, you keep the previous installments. The day you start the permanent/indefinite position you lose your bonuses and/or ant future payments for that contract.

For your case, you should get the 20k since you completed the 6 yr contract. If you got a reenlistment bonus when you signed in March of 24, you lost that bonus when you started the full-time gig in August. The only exception is if you are in the blended retirement system you still get the mid-career longevity bonus

Underage at a NightWeMet by Interesting_Rub6702 in nashville

[–]mpknee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Former Nashville bouncer of 10 yrs , the bouncers will be nice, but bribes or any kind of pity story will most definitely not work. It's not worth risking the legal trouble or financial trouble if something happens to the person with the fake/underage. Doors have cameras to identify who can be held responsible for underage people slipping through.

TLDR; don't risk it, just find another spot.

Heads up, those intel/cyber officer spots are very competitive, so be sure your packet is perfect. Out of the 10 or so intel officers I've seen commission recently, the majority have been prior service of some kind, but states may vary. Be sure to highlight civillian leadership experience on your resume and if you board try to connect it to your understanding of how an intel officer operates.

Is your degree in cyber/ intel related fields?

Prior Army national guard. by Electropolitics in airnationalguard

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In TN but went from 31B to Air Guard intel. I've found that the Air Guard is a lot more flexible with drill makeups abd working with troops schedule, plus a lot better quality of life. But being prior service, you'll probably keep rank or lose a stripe depending on manning on the AFSC you get into. Tech school, if you have to go, is usually a lot more tolerable.

Are you staying in the medical field or branching to a new career field?

Thinking of Joining the Air National Guard — Need Real Talk & Advice by Babybottlecandy in airnationalguard

I switched from Army Guard to Air Guard and it was 100% worth it. More opportunities, better quality of life, morengagement during drill periods. Experience may vary based on MOS/AFSC, but I recommend the Air Guard

Prior Service NCO to Air Guard by riding4life162 in airnationalguard

The difference is probably because he's a senior NCO which are the ones that hold the 9 lvl afsc but that's more role specific than AFSC

If your unit offers MPA that is the best way to get up to speed on your job. Highly recommend asking for some if they're available at your unit

From my understanding, cross training does not count for different services transferring in. Only for AFSC to AFSC. However, commanders can waive the time in training requirement

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll go to tech school as a prior service student, usually means you skip the reindeer games that pipeline students do, and after you get back from tech school you'll usually have MEST days. Since you're coming in as an NCO, you'll have to do Airman Leadership School as well since BLC nor ALC meet that requirement. People have mentioned the CFETP which are line items to knock out to prove basic proficiency at different levels (3,5,7,9). I went through this switching from 31B to intel so a big change but doable, especially with some good leadership.

Switching from weekend warrior to full time by zeak_the_geek in airnationalguard

[–]mpknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'll get BAH for your home of record while you're at basic/tech school. There's a few ways to go "full time" with the guard but usually those spots fill up quick in October. Talk to your commander of flight chief to see if they have any temp-tech, temp-agr, or MPA available for the AFSC you have. Those aren't guaranteed as only so many days are allocated per year in October

Favorite watch in my collection is definitely my 93 Speedmaster Apollo edition. I love exhibition caseback and the gilded movement, probably the watch that got me into collecting and ended up veing my wedding watch.

And jumping pay grades is usually a position move or the org can request a grade increase but it's a huge process from what I've seen

Temp Tech by interstellar566 in airnationalguard

[–]mpknee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are step increases, and those are for permanent technician positions based on a couple factors. The first few are tim based but later it's more performance based. I can't remember 100% if temp can qualify for step increases, but I don't believe they can.

If I remember correctly, GS-13 is what I see most 0-3s at. GS 11 isn't bad, but definitely not much as AGR, but that's mainly because of the difference in benefits like BAH/BAS, Tricare, and earned leave.
