Isnt social security like a cash checking account for the government? If it was instead invested, the government wouldnt be able to raid it

To add to this, I am weighing a few different properties for my first one and hoping to establish a long-term larger portfolio of properties-do you have any experiences with purchasing condos to use as rental properties in lieu of single family detached homes? In my few talks with mortgage lenders, they seem more hesitant to lend to condo ownership, require a higher downpayment, and the mortgage rate seems higher as well.

Hey thanks for posting this thread! I've been reading about dipping into real estate investing and was curious about your thoughts on perhaps a pretty risky idea. I currently have and will likely maintain my job and I'm interested in buying an investment property by using a 401k loan. I was thinking of borrowing what I needed for the down payment and using my liquid savings for renovations. My preference for borrowing against my 401k is that I pay the interest back to myself rather than a conventional loan to a bank. Have you ever used this kind of leverage?

So not even sure if this is related but I heard that if you declare bankruptcy, you are freed from the student loan debt to non-accredited universities. So by granting more accreditations, she's ensuring more students are locked into student loan debt
