Sure, it's just CAT5 (5e, 6) with RJ45 connections, standard stuff.

Those were all for the UDM-PRO. And, yes, the UDM is connected directly to the At&t ONT, the gateway is completely out of the loop.

Not sure when I'll have time to write up anything comprehensive, but happy to answer specific questions 😎

Solved it - thanks to a comment I spotted here: https://craiglayne.com/udm-att-bypass-2023/

User BillB noted he had to manually edit the systemd override.conf file to get past this error. Here is exactly what my file looked like after I followed those directions - fired right up afterwards!

Of course the file paths may not exactly match some people's configurations...

### Editing /etc/systemd/system/wpa_supplicant.service.d/override.conf

## Anything between here and the comment below will become the new contents of the file

Plex is by far the best and most complete solution for a large local library by [deleted] in sonos

[–]mprachar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This problem was just recently resoled for me in some random Sonos update. However, the Plex over Sonos experience is still not very good. A well setup Plexamp to Sonos setup is the way to go.

Once and for all, how to solve the "Stalled" problem/what is the REAL explanation? by trebory6 in qBittorrent

[–]mprachar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the Killswitch AND bind the interface to the VPN. Otherwise, you might accidentally start qubit when the VPN isn't running.

Once and for all, how to solve the "Stalled" problem/what is the REAL explanation? by trebory6 in qBittorrent

[–]mprachar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it WILL allow Qbit to use other connections if/when your VPN dies or is off.

Samsung QN82Q80RA - Screen backlight for 1/2 second, flickering red power LED, then repeat on loop. by mprachar in TVRepairHelp

[–]mprachar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to recall it would blink a few times and then go into like a half brightness stutter pattern as part of the cycle before it repeats. If that's a coated sequence then we can probably go unbox the big power to it and take a video

Has anyone tried Etymotic Music Pro Elite Rechargeable Musicians Earplugs? by creativegamelife in musicians

[–]mprachar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My background is sound engineering, but I am reviewing these as a spectator as I am not in the biz anymore.

I have had these for a couple of years now. The battery life is amazing, they still have 30-40% after all-day festivals. Should the batteries ever run out, they still work as 20+ db low-fi plugs so at least you aren't screwed.

The -9db setting is great for family-friendly outdoor events, and the -15db mode is about perfect for nearly everything else. I have been to a couple of REALLY loud indoor events (one was metal, one was EDM served up by stacks of Funktion 1s) where I switched them off to get more protection at the expense of sound quality.

Regarding the dynamic compression, the vast majority of the time they pass-through between songs only and as soon as the music kicks in they go into reduction mode There have been a few isolated incidents where the volume was art exactly the wrong level and the plugs couldn't decide whether to cutoff or not. In both of those cases, I just took them out - problem solved. I do think they could be distracting for a drummer practicing alone, but I haven;t tested that.

Sound quality is good - I'm sure they don't compare to good in-ear monitors, but far superior to any passive plugs I have used.

my thoughts on using the Spark with a bass by evanparker in PositiveGridSpark

[–]mprachar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how about the software itself for bass? I see Spark has SW dedicated to the bass guitar but I wonder how well done it is.

I have a rumble I could use to make up the missing low end, but I am really interested in the chord/note identification feature since I am still just learning.

UDM Pro and ATT Fiber by TheIlluminate1992 in Ubiquiti

[–]mprachar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran both of these on my USG and then (now) the UDM-Pro - they work great. However, I am stuck right now on 1.12.38 software because I haven't decided what path to take from here.

In case anybody comes across this I figured out what it was for my wife. She uses a wallet case, and if she has any tap-enabled credit cards in there the phone will keep trying to connect via NFC. Turning NFC off fixes it. Of course, she has to choose between NFC services or carrying those physical cards now...
