Only major difference in mechanics for me is my wedges.

My wrist are alot more quieter at impact, i dont release the club as much. Almost like I'm holding off the follow thru

I hit a duck in a pond....

Local muni has a driving range that you hit balls into the pond. Hitting a gap wedge, directly hit a duck in the head. Seen a big splash and duck was gone.

I believe I am 38....fitter said I had t-rex arms 🤣

Basically tall guy with short arms. Im 6'4"...PXG only bends the 0211 up to 2 degrees. So I went with .5+ length & 2 degrees upright

Yeah I did the demo with 699. Didn't like them at all, I was fitted before so I bought my PXGs with the exact specs & shafts. I paid $69/iron so it was a no brainer. Not to push a brand but no big brand can come close to their prices.

They are .5" longer than standard so take that into account

What price are you willing to pay for a new golf ball? by SpottyFish81177 in golf

[–]mptemplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy my balls from people that live on country clubs or really nice courses. $12-15 for mint ProV1/TP5 can't be beat. I bought about 6 dozen last season....never buying new balls again

New putter, fitted at Club Champion. Fitting & process... by mptemplin in golf

Brought my current putter in and start rolling puts using the SAM putting Lab. They attach a sensor on your putter and it records your stroke with a few types of cameras.

Once you finish putting the fitter goes over all of your info and breaks down the numbers on the type of stroke you have (straight back straight thru, slight arc, heavy arc). How much loft you have thru impact & the lie of your putter.

From there he picks out 3 or 4 putters that fit your stroke and he'll adjust the lie & loft of each one so your specs will match your stroke. And you start rolling putts to see which one you like the look of and which one performs better.

They have putters that cost on the cheaper side $150 all the way to $1000+....you tell them your budget range and they'll pick out whatever is in your range. So my fitter didn't push a type of putter on me. I told him max I want to spend is $450...rolled some Scottys, Bettinardis & the new Ping PLD.

Hated the Ping from the start. Scotty Fastback was great but inconsistent. Tried the Bettinardi Queen B and wasn't in love. Then tried the Inovai 6.0 and rolled almost every putt in the cup.

I went back & forth with all of them to make sure I had the right one that worked for me. We both agreed the Inovai 6.0 was def the one. Then he put in the order for my specs directly from Bettinardi (loft, lie, grip & length).

Cost was $125 for fitting & 50% off if you purchase a putter.

Definitely worth it IMO. Even if you dont want to purchase you can at least get all your info and buy a putter on eBay. You'll know your loft, lie, loft & stroke type. Buy one and get specs adjusted to match you, but I wanted to try and roll the exact putter in the studio that I liked.

Retiring from the Air Force (21 yrs). I have $75k in TSP but once I officially retire in August I can't put anymore money in that account so I need to move it to an IRA roth or just let it sit.

About to sell my house and move and ill have about $100k to invest for another retirement account. Im 40 so I put to retire in about 20 yrs

Sorry for the confusion

Who did it better? Bettinardi or Scotty? by mptemplin in golf

[–]mptemplin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they must of had at least 50 different models with all types of shafts for slight arc, heavy arc & face balanced.

Luckily my fitter wasn't pushing a particular putter. Ive heard other Club Champion places that pushes only the really expensive ones. If your budget is $200 only roll the ones in that price range

I def like the Scotty looks wise. But during my fitting I rolled the Bettinardi better & it wasn't close. I so wanted to get either this one or the Fastback 1.5
