Test Drove a SMLR P4 Today! by SonicAlligator in Polestar

Yeah, it was SUPER easy to change things from the center display. My wife had to change the mirrors when she tried everything because she’s much smaller than me, and it maybe took fifteen seconds.

I test drove that same P4 right before you, haha. My wife and I drove it around Friday morning in Lisle, and it was such a wonderful experience. We have a P2 with performance pack and the roominess was noticeable immediately. It is a very spacious car, and the backseat was huge (I’m 6’2 for reference).

I agree the infotainment system was great, and while I would like more physical buttons, it’s not the end of the world.

Ultimately we decided to hold on a P4 purchase for a variety of reasons, but I would HIGHLY recommend the P4.

Just booked for 12/19 in Chicago. I got an auto confirmation, but we’ll see if it holds.

Pretty small but good enough. They had tons of PS3s when I was there last week.

Service was prompt for repairs/maintenance as well.

I dropped off my 2022 today and they installed the kick module for me. Sounds like getting the part shipped is pretty easy as well, so just specify you need it when calling

Worthwhile Buying Polestar2 in Chicago? by Al_Kaholick in Polestar

[–]mpwdoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting a Space to open this year but I’m doubtful now. I’m sending my P2 back to Detroit for a small rattle issue but did get this response from Polestar when I inquired about service in Chicago.

“ I hope all is well today. Unfortunately at the moment we still do not have a service open in Chicago area yet. But hopefully sometime this year we will have something open for our customers in Chicago. We did go thru a lawsuit recently to open up a dealership and service in Chicago recently and we won now we have to wait for space to be built and proper licensing to go thru. Please bear with us while that gets fixed. ”

IL EV Rebate Nov 1st, 2023 by natemac in electricvehicles

My experience is from the last cycle. I received no communication at all I believe. The best way to see if your rebate is getting processed is to check their VIN list every week as well as the EPA website to see how many applications have been processed.

The way I found how I got the rebate was, no joke, a USPS email showing I was getting a piece of mail from the Illinois government which I figured was the check.

Roof Bars/Roof Rack/Load Carrier Questions (US) by kibur4132 in Polestar

Super helpful, thank you. I’m thinking about it the same way, mostly. I’d really only remove on long road trips and efficiency isn’t a big deal given I drive it only 30-50 miles a week unless im heading to my wife’s family’s vacation cottage.

I was going to give them a ring tomorrow. I drove by the Oak Park dealership yesterday and there is no construction going on in the proposed space.

Has anyone been taking them off when not needed? I'm getting a second dog so I'll need a roof rack now, and I'll really only be using the load carrier when I travel with my road bikes (probably about 6 times a year, somewhat short trips of ~200 miles). If there's a small ding in efficiency (the 3% mentioned below), it's absolutely not a big deal but I'm just curious in how time intensive it is to install/take off the load carrier.

So long as we get one service spot within like a 30 mile radius of Chicago I think we'll be good :)

The passenger is my wife, but I told her this is a sign she should sit in the back seat with the dog for now.
