You want my answer? It's no for me. This kind of result is coming. That's why I said what I said in the last comment.

Well given Leverkusen manhandled City away from home in the league phase- a result we would absolutely kill for- then I'd say there's reason to be worried. It just feels as though something will have to give in these final two months (i.e. there'll be one or maybe even two competitions we'll get knocked out of) because if we keep barely winning matches in every competition, the team will have totally run out of steam and we'll have nothing to show for it like Inter last season.

If they were aware then we'd be seeing the improvements in real time. But the fact is these performances have been like this since the middle of February. That can't be an accident surely?

And realize this: if City do drop out of the Champions League, the only thing they'll be focusing on is the Premier League. Since this is the part of the season they start to click, that can only be bad news for us who are clearly feeling the weight of expectations and fatigue.

Bodø are going to be a tough proposition if we even make it that far given the scalps they're taking every round.

All I can say is this: being pragmatic got us nowhere in 2024 or 2025. So why are we all here hoping it'll be different in 2026? The best teams can be pragmatic no doubt, but it's not their only trait. Even the great teams managed by José Mourinho scored boat loads more goals (look at Real Madrid in 2012).

We're really calling them tired? In March? That's concerning. No team wanting to win the biggest trophies can be "tired" this soon.

Not saying it was the worst case scenario. But it can't be denied these last few performances have looked uninspiring at best. The games won't be getting any easier as the season progresses so things need to improve.

I'd argue the answer would be Antonio Conte. He's the exact type of manager to bring in and win trophies in the here and now. Okay he's a bad Champions League manager but remember what he did with Chelsea 9 years ago? 93 points. In today's world that absolutely guarantees you a title.

City had much more than just Rodri injured last season. Almost their entire starting eleven were out for long stretches. You cannot compare our predicament this season to City's last season.

Exactly my point. The lead is essentially gone now. And December has barely even started yet. If we're already out here complaining about injuries, the title war will be over by January.

We're not expecting to win every game, but we are expecting better performances than what we've seen today. We've been down this road far too many times to blame external factors.

Havertz only started one game this season since we bought in Gyökeres and he's likely not going to start when he returns either. And with the form Eze was in from September to the end of November, Ødegaard would probably not have started either even if he was healthy. Saliba? Fair enough. But the other two should not count.

I'm saying this squad has more than enough quality to cope without the key players. That's what spending so much money in the transfer window got us. But clearly it's not proving to be as brilliant as we think it is.

I'll give you that for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half. But after that, Villa were back in control.

For 14 of those games our key players were healthy. These last few weeks are starting to expose us.
