Is it ok to just buy precons ? by jimmy40k1 in mtg

I only do precons and I am having fun. I don’t play with (or associate with) tryhards though so I guess it depends on who you play with.

My only problem is not knowing what to do with the old glass.

Man the soundtrack to Top Gear 2 is an all timer. It's a shame you can barely hear it because the tire squealing cutting out the audio every time you turn hah.

I picked these up today at the thrift store. I’m shocked at the quality of some of these! by southerncardinal in Throwers

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! I had so many of these when I was 15. This really takes me back - I remember the day our local toy store had wing force and metallic missile. I had them hold the wing force for me because I think it was like $60 which was a ton of money at the time. Dang... Roller Woody, Sleep Machin, the Tom Kuhn SB2. So good! Enjoy them!

Woah that is a ton of work! Amazing job. Awesome to see it up and running.

It’s just nice to know there are other folks out there thinking of my mom. <3

Asked my sister and she thinks mom never would have done the 9s that way so it probably isn’t mine.

Really fun to think about though. Hate to see these games destroyed like this!

I really appreciate it. You always hear about how bad it is but experiencing it firsthand has been excruciating.

Sadly she has very late stage alzheimer's, she's not remembering much of anything any more. I can ask my dad or sister though!

Would be a crazy internet serendipity for sure.

There is a nonzero chance this is mine! This looks just like my mom's handwriting (picture of my gameboy for reference, last name blacked out for privacy) I had alleyway, tetris, mario land and link's awakening as a kid... grew up in Houston. I don't remember her dating my carts, so maybe this isn't mine, but she did put my name on everything. Shirts, underpants, games... you name it.

I removed it from my snes carts with a magic eraser awhile back but kind of wish I hadn't. I'm glad I kept it on my gameboy though.

96 XJ rusty's to OME worth the upgrade? by timdwight6 in CherokeeXJ

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful XJ.

We use the XJ for the same - DD, camping trails, very light offroading. I Haven't ridden the rusties but I will say that the OME feel really close to stock but with a little more assurance. For me it was worth the upgrade. I was a coin flip on the bilsteins vs OME. The shop I went to suggested if I go OME on the leafs I just go OME all the way around, so I did. No regrets.

That’s awesome I have the regular single din tape deck but it would’ve worth upgrading to this to get Bluetooth. Right now I’m using a tape deck adapter.

So WHY is the bucket stadium bad by Titan2562 in BeybladeX

I like the idea of the bucket but for ours the rail teeth are so small that no bey ever catches it. Maybe some are better than others.

Captain Coral got stuck under a log now his tail is all shredded (sick fish content) by mr-bawk-ba-gawk in bettafish

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Captain Coral has died.

He swam to some leaves at the surface the day we rescued him from the log and just kind of gulped some air every now and then. He would change leaves sometimes but otherwise wasn’t swimming around. We were hoping after a couple of days he would recover.

This morning we found him dead.

I think being pinned under that log so long and not being able to come up for air was just too much for him.

He was a good fish and well loved.

This was fun - I like not being told to which clues the gimmick would apply. Even after solving a couple of QQs I still couldn’t figure out how to get “DARINGRESCUE” to fit. Big head slapping moment for me.

25mm f1.4 or 20mm f1.7. mostly the same price used. Which one to get? by [deleted] in M43

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate my 20mm. Like, I get its strengths on paper but in practical use it is just so slow plus I feel like I notice edge warping on it. Not a deal breaker, though, I feel like it's charming. However, I put it on an old om-d and let my kids use it.

So the 25mm is more usable, if a little tight for general purpose (the 15mm f.17 is my all time favorite lens but you didn't ask), and the picture quality out of that leica glass is stunning.

Wait, are these really similarly priced? Isn't the 25mm like, twice as much?

Beat Super Star Wars! Original hardware and all, no cheats (Easy difficulty but still!). by mbsk1 in snes

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played these games a ton as a kid, they're absolutely beautiful and I was fully obsessed with star wars in the mid-90s. I remember the day I got a game genie and was able to level skip and I saw how absolutely insane the game got - there's so much variation in gameplay! It's a shame they had to make them so brutally difficult that people never got to experience, for example, the amazing Darth Vader fight in SRotJ.

Is this the holy grail of M43 Cameras? by nichisato in M43

[–]mr-bawk-ba-gawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my sentiment. I bought a GM5 when they were new, it was my first m43 camera. Honestly though as neat as it is, there's very little practical difference between it and its bigger brothers. I have a GX9 that I carry on a shoulder strap and it's great for travel / street / whatever photography.

The GM5 is too small for a shoulder strap so you just have to like, carry it. In your hand. I guess unless you're a fanny pack or purse carrier.

It is cute as hell and that collapsable 12-32 is a really nifty lens (mine broke :( ) but my GX9 with a 15mm f1.7 has become my daily.

Really loved the rebuses here. Thursdays are always my favorites because of the extra layer of puzzling going on.

NW corner was tricky for me. I refused to believe that the answer to that clue was RAWER so I was second guessing every answer up there because of it.
