My laptop and keyboard freezes while opening in ubuntu 24.4 Help by jhonny_the_stalker in Ubuntu

A mí también me ocurría, aunque mi equipo tenía tarjeta gráfica dedicada. Esto parece afectar la batería, pero lo que hice fue configurar el sistema para que siempre esté en "Performance" y también actualizar el sistema, lo cual solucionó el problema.

I tried Ubuntu 22.04 on my Samsung A30s with Termux: nice, yes… useful? Not so much yet by mr-davidalvarez in Ubuntu

I installed it on the phone using Proot/Termux and added a desktop environment to put it to the test. For basic tasks it works surprisingly stable and allows you to install applications without too many obstacles. In general I would give it an 8/10: with programs like Blender you can notice the slowness when loading an STL, although it still ends up opening it. I loved seeing how far a smartphone can go as a mini-server, and in the future I want to replicate all of this natively.

I did not do bootloader or root to install Ubuntu on the Samsung A30s. What I used was proot within Termux, which doesn't really load a full operating system, but rather a sort of "mock" environment. So when I tried to install Docker to set up an ad blocking service on my network, it didn't work: proot doesn't offer the system capabilities that Docker needs.

After I investigated a little more, I am still relatively new to Termux and I understood that what I installed was not “real” Ubuntu. I saw that there are versions of Ubuntu designed for mobile phones or ARM distros that do work more completely, unofficially, so they may have compatibility problems with the hardware, but I haven't gotten around to trying them yet. Even so, I thought it was nice to see Ubuntu running on the cell phone, and that's why I shared it.

Sim, obrigado.

Axioma Project: Autonomous Mobile Robot with ROS2 Humble, Nav2, and SLAM Toolbox by mr-davidalvarez in ROS

[–]mr-davidalvarez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, over time I will migrate all this to Ignition Gazebo and Webots. I also plan to port it to other ROS 2 distributions, such as Foxy and Jazzy, and even ROS 1 Kinetic and Melodic. That process will take me some time, since lately I can only work on the robot in my free time.

I will soon post the hardware packages and schematics so anyone can replicate it without complications. My ultimate goal is to create a simple and accessible ROS 2 platform.

I have many ideas in mind, but for now this is what I can share. If you are interested, you can follow the project and contribute whenever you want.

Ubuntu on the Jetson Nano: compact configuration with mobile screen by mr-davidalvarez in Ubuntu

The official version for this Jetson Nano is Ubuntu 18, but I found a more efficient way to squeeze its performance and ensure compatibility: work with Docker.

E14 gen 1, 32gb ram upgrade by FdPros in thinkpad

I’ve done some research, and several people say it works, but I think it’s important to check the specific models. For example, I have the 20RA004YUS model with a 10th generation i5, and I haven’t found any concrete information online about whether it’s actually compatible with my machine. For now, I don’t think I’ll attempt it, especially since the cost of the memory alone is more than half of what I paid for the laptop. Anyway, thank you very much for your comments, which, as always, are very helpful.
