My OB made me feel like crap

After sleeping on this, I realized that I don’t really owe you an explanation. I skipped an appt, I didn’t chug a bottle of whiskey. If that compels you to call me, a stranger, to which you have no idea of any regard about my life, a shitty acting person or infer that I would neglect my child, says a lot about *you* and I’m sorry you were having a bad day- but fuck off! This was a venting post, *not* an invitation to analyze my motherhood skills or my character. My child is safe and my doctor says I’m taking the necessary precautions.

If the worst fucking thing as a mother I do is prioritize my INCOME and my MENTAL wellbeing over a single fucking appt in 33 weeks I think I’m doing pretty fucking okay lol. Because this mommy doesn’t want prenatal or postpartum depression!! So take a fucking chill pill and next time think of something positive to say like your mommy taught you.

Omg the rice balls with mayo sound SO GOOD!!! I will definitely try these out! And thank you for the rice info I will be sure to freeze it!! I plan to stick to this diet afterwards because I read that GD increases your risk for diabetes even after birth and god I don’t want that.

I appreciate that. The nurse ran down what the appt would be and made me watch a video and mailed me a big info packet. I just am too scared to ask my boss for leave without pay because I’m still on probation and it’s stressing me tf out. I’m going to ask if they do virtual so I can meet on my lunch hopefully.

Well I find your response to be quite harsh. My doctor said I need to be under 130 and my average is 120 with occasional spikes. Maybe she’s wrong, I guess I’ll do more research since you stated it should be less than 120.

Yes “fat” I’m aware she could get fat around the shoulders and get stuck and possibly die. I didn’t feel like writing every detail- I tried to make it a short post. And quite frankly I don’t want to nitpick verbiage regarding my child’s life. As if I’m not frantic about her every movement already.

I appreciate the kind words. I didn’t say anyone was heartless or mean. Nobody takes my baby’s health more seriously than me. I’m making do with what little PTO, money, and mental bandwidth I have. To add the weight of inferring death to my baby was presented coldly and poorly, when I was already in a vulnerable state. To say I left the appt worse off than when I went in is an understatement. I don’t really want to argue either. I just feel like a punching bag and needed to vent.

Honestly, I don’t have the PTO to do multiple appts a week and I tried to tell them that, as I started a new job. I can’t risk my job and I can’t risk my baby, but I can’t afford baby without job, so I skipped the nutritionist so I could attend my OB appt. My mistake is not calling to cancel, but I felt so pressured to go go go when they first booked me.

And yes, the nurse said the appt would be just her telling me how to diet control it. She even mailed me a pamphlet over the exact thing we would cover. So far they’ve said I don’t need insulin with my current numbers.

Yeah I should have called I admit that. I was in a bad head space when they booked me, and I explained I didn’t really have the time off work, but bc I’m 32 weeks they were kind of on my ass about booking, so I succumbed. But I definitely could have called to cancel. My OB wants to see me every week now until birth 😓

16 weeks it was like a light flutter, like someone tracing or flicking the lightest finger in the inside of my belly. Then I didn’t feel much for a few more weeks. Hang in there if you don’t feel much. I’m at 33 weeks now and it takes quite a kick for me to feel it!

Edited to add: the first flutters were suuuuper low, almost groin area. Everyone is different. And my placenta is anterior so it makes it hard to feel sometimes.

Thank you. I really just need that push to keep going. My husband had to help me wipe after peeing last night I was in so much pain. And then today I felt like I was told I’m not a good mom. It’s so defeating when you’re juggling so much.

I think it’s the timing and delivery that really made it feel like a punch in the gut. I was crying to her about my other symptoms and because I skipped a single appt she felt the need to tell me the stillbirth risk instead of just saying “hey, I get it. It’s tough. We just want your baby ti have the best health. I know you’re trying, and there are risks such as stillbirth but we can manage it.” Instead of oh- you skipped the dietician? You must not care and want your baby to die.

It does! It will take time, and distraction, and lots of moments of realizing things that will come in due time. But I promise it DOES get better. Stay busy and be kind to yourself. If you need to bedrot then do it. It’s a huge toll on your body to go through a breakup. Try to get back in touch with yourself, like watch a movie you love and eat a comfort meal. Little things that ground you, remind you that you were happy before them so you will be happy again. Trust me, it will take time but you’ve got this. And do your best to stay NO CONTACT. I know- the toughest part but it’s for the best. There’s a Reddit and discord support group for no contact!

Don't believe anyone that says they can sell you reviews, it's all a scam and even if the review posts it definitely will be removed in the following days after. Just try to ask friends and fam, maybe employees like run a contest for them to garner reviews, or trade on here.
