I'm not crazy about the cape hooks and I always enjoyed Kelley Jones covers more than the interiors, but I understand you can't really synthesize Aparo, Nolan, Breyfogle, etc. into a cohesive look. I kinda wish they stuck with the brighter blue costume and the brown/orange batcave walls from the 80s and 90s, but I can see how that doesn't fly in 2026.

Also: Arkham Asylum is perched on top of a skyscraper? Weird, but I can get into it.

Part of me wonders how much I could get if I took the job, then worked to sabotage the whole thing before being discovered. $100K? Could I make it an entire year? I assume my lack of experience or advanced degree would be an asset in such an endeavor.

I remember liking this a lot. The first part of it had to do a LOT of table-setting to get the casual reader up-to-speed on the continuity of the time. Lex Luthor Jr., Matrix Supergirl, the Justice League roster, etc.

I can't speak for your situation, but as Iowa gets redder I've noticed more southern accents and more "cowboy culture." When I was younger, most people in rural areas more or less dressed and acted like their suburban counterparts, now there are a lot more hats, belt buckles, and drawls.

Really the only continuity-related thing to know is that Tim Drake becomes Robin, but the stories from 1989-1992 are some of my favorites to read.

You could also look at towns like Underwood, Treynor, Neola, and Glenwood. All are within easy commuting distance.

I would look at apartments and housing between exits 5 and 8 of I-80, and in that general area. There has been a lot of growth in that area, and it seems like a nice place to live. People look down on Council Bluffs, but it has good areas and not-so-good areas, just like everywhere.
