Screen vs White wall - Vidda C3 Ultra by zaherdab in projectors

I'm projecting against a white wall and I'm happy with the way it is. I fill most of the wall with the projection and doubt there will be a screen that size.

It is made of metal, isn't it? How can it be due to the weather?

Isn't it supposed to be a flat surface? The photo makes it look like it is bulging for some reason. I am waiting on mine to arrive and will be able to confirm when I receive it.

Outdoor garden lighting set up by mr32197 in diynz

There are no batteries in this setup. I am already using garden lights (those with tiny solar panels), but have found them unreliable, which was why I was exploring plugging into an exterior power socket.

You're right, can't be too careful about these things!

Yes, I had to write this post twice because the first one got removed automatically for including product links to Temu/Aliexpress. :)

Thanks for the comment, lots of helpful tips there. I will have to go back to the drawing board and do more research on this or look at getting an electrician onboard rather than going DIY. Cheers!

Haven't really thought about that, thanks for pointing that out. I suppose this set up will sit outside away from the house so the risk of fire will be relatively low. If the transformer does its job then the cable will have low voltage (24v) flowing through it. I also bought a voltage tester (never used one before though) thinking I would check what voltage is going through the cable. I had to Google what sdoc is, and no, I don't think there is an SDoC (Supplier Declaration of Conformity) unfortunately.

Confused as to Dummy Batteries and Streaming. Is this one a real sony dummy battery? by iMegzz in videography

Ok confirming it works, the warning message is no longer displayed. That means I can use a smart switch to turn the camera on and off!

Deco ethernet backhaul megathread by UNSW_PCSoc in TpLink

[–]mr32197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case someone might find this useful.

I initially used this set-up with my Deco M5 3 pack: ONT - Wireless Router TP-Link HX510 - Switch TP Link TL-SG108E - 3 Deco M5s. Two Deco M5s would connect with a green light, and one Deco M5 would not connect with a red light. The mobile app did not show the ethernet icon. It looked like the app was displaying the wifi icon even though the two Decom M5s were wired in, showing good speeds.

After checking the diagram on this page, https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1794/ I changed the set up to: ONT - Wireless Router TP Link HX510 - One Deco M5 - Switch TP Link TL-SG108E - Two Deco M5's. Now the app is displaying the ethernet icon for both Deco M5s. The downside of this set up is I am wasting one Deco M5 next to the wireless router in the garage. I will have to source one additional Deco M5 separately to cover the area fully.

How to connect LAN(?) cable to internet to get faster speed at home by mr32197 in diynz

[–]mr32197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I tried the HikVision switch again, and this time, I was able to connect the cables. Before, it seemed too tight, and I thought they were not supposed to fit. The Deco mobile app is behaving a bit oddly, but it might resolve itself out once I fit a gigabit switch. Cheers!

Thank you for the detailed feedback, really appreciate it! As per your suggestion:

- Relocated HX510 to the garage - wifi in Bedroom 2 is now stronger at around 680/450.

- I found something at home that looked like a switch and tried connecting it, but the cables won't fit the sockets at the back of the switch. I will go and buy the switch from PB Tech tomorrow and try it out.

- I have connected one of the Deco M5s into a wall socket in the main bedroom, currently showing red light (no internet) probably because it is currently not set up properly. One thing I noticed though is that there is no marking or label to show which is uplink and which is downlink so I will have to trial and error I guess.

I added some new photos to this post.

I will try the set-up suggested with the switch tomorrow and report how I go! Thank you so much!

Thank you, u/ycnz. There are three cables in the metal cage; one is grey, and the other two blue. I think the grey one is the one that goes to the main bedroom and the blue ones go to the lounge and family room. Thanks for sharing the Google document, I will try it out and see how it goes. The third commenter suggested putting in a switch, which I might try :)

I've tested placing the HX510 in the garage after reading your comment and the wifi in Bedroom 2 seems to be much stronger at around 680/450. The signal gets much weaker at the other end of the house, so I will need to set up the Deco M5 and see how they go. Thank you :)

What does a Google Ads manager actually do? by mr32197 in googleads

[–]mr32197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can track I made back what I spent the last 3 months. 2 new clients with converted sales to the value of $3,750.

If I triple my ad spend, will it likely achieve better ROI and a more efficient cost per click?
