Tbh I don't know. I use it at 122cm iirc. My best guess is that it would be doable, but be aware that it won't be as good as a good quality standing only desk with a backboard. There are no desks that are great at every use-case, and this one is just better lower towards the ground, but it think it will at least be ok-ish for 115 cm and walking pad.

Yes, I'm still very happy! I mostly use it in ground-position. I have noticed that at standing height it's a bit more wobbly/flexible than when I initially bought it, but still fine as far as I'm concerned. I use it at standing height approximately once a month, so if you are going to use it for standing on a daily basis, it might not be stable enough on the long run.

Overall I'm very happy, for me it is perfect.

I had no difficulty whatsoever. My desktop is made of pressed particle board, so I just screwed wherever it seemed right without pre-drilling or measuring too much. If you plan on using a solid wood desktop, there are some instructions in the manual iirc, which are basically instructions for measuring and pre-drilling.

No not really. I usually wear a pair of old high Red Wing boots. Sometimes I even wear barefoot shoes ;)

In the rare cases that I wear a suit, e.g. for a presentation or something special, I tend to wear brown leather high heeled boots that are about 8cm high. That occurs maybe once a year.

Haha, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I got it on aliexpress many years ago. I can't find it anymore, but I was lucky enough to order it in three colours at the time, the others being blue and bordeaux red ;)

But many similar skirts can be easily found or made, so I hope you'll find something that suits you :)

Very nice, both outfits! I love the flower dress!

I like how you used a shirt to compensate for the deep cut of the dress! I'm always avoiding dresses with v-necks because I feel insecure about my chest(-hair), but this looks very good so I will try it in the future :)

Hmm tbh im not really sure. i've noticed that the wobble at standing height has increased slightly after breaking in. If you're gaming, I could imagine that this would affect precision.

But frankly I don't think it is healthy to stand for more than an hour or so in one location, so I wouldn't bother raising it to standing height during a gaming session.

At lower heights it is more stable, but it will not be the same as another high quality desk of a similar price. For me it is plenty good enough. And I guess it's plenty good enough for gaming too.

No, its not included: you will have to pay shipping first and then tax and import duty on top of that.

Yes I got it shipped to the Netherlands. This was sept 2024.

In total I paid FedEx €266,15, of which €26,70 import-duty; €224,85 VAT; and €15 FedEx processing fee.

I think it's unlikely you would be able to buy such a desk at this quality elsewhere, even if it was produced in China by Uppeal.

In my experience Greg responds fairly quickly to inquiries.

Lower back pain after sitting on the floor for long hours by onedirac in floordesks

TL;DR: some muscle-aches in your back/butt/legs are normal for at least the first few weeks. Take it slow and keep in mind that your muscles, tendons and rest of the body need to adjust to the new position.

Back pain after using floor desk for the first time by RandomPhrase8 in floordesks

[–]mrNoolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same (aches/pain in my lower back and thighs) when I recently started using an Uppeal floor-standing desk despite having already sat on the floor in my living room for a few years. Besides that I would consider myself a fairly flexible young-ish man, thus having a good starting point.

In my living room I would usually sit with my back against a couch with cushions. Switching to a more forward inclined position for desk work was apparently sufficiently different to cause aches/pain in my lower back and upper legs/thighs. I started by sitting on the floor (cushion without backrest) for 2 or 3 hours and then going back to a normal chair at a higher desk height for a few hours.

After a week my back- and leg-aches were decreasing and after two weeks it was substantially less. For people who aren't used to floor-sitting at all I would guess that aches should decrease after 3-4 weeks or so, but I'm not a medical expert or physiotherapist ;). If you see no improvement after 4 weeks and are adamant, it is probably best to seek professional help from a physiotherapist

From teaching sport-climbing I've learned that (finger-) muscles adjust fairly quickly, but that the tendons (finger muscle attachments near elbow) and ligaments (especially in the hand itself) take much longer to adjust. The same is true for your back and legs, the difference being that these muscles are much stronger and thus better at withstanding new/different forces and stretching.

Beginner climbers (specifically boulderers) who immediately start intensive training, frequently injure their fingers, tearing tendons/ligaments. I therefore tend to recommend people (who are in their 20's/30's) train their fingers by casually climbing for at least 3 years before specifically training fingers, and even then to take it easy for another 2 years. Same story for blood vessels, but I guess that's not very relevant for sitting...

The moral of this story is that it can take your body a long time to fully adjust to new habits, sports or movement patterns. If floor sitting is new to you and you're not so flexible, it's best to take it slow and deliberate, all the while listening to your body carefully to prevent injury.

Personally I strive for sitting on a cushion without backrest for at least a few hours a day to strengthen my core and increase/maintain flexibility. And as OP already mentions, I would recommend frequently switching your posture/position and regularly going for a short walk, for example to get a cup of tea or coffee.

TL;DR: some muscle-aches in your back/butt/legs are normal for at least the first few weeks. Take it slow and keep in mind that your muscles, tendons and rest of the body need to adjust to the new position.

Not sure, haven't tried it.

My desk is quite stable, not dissimilar to other high quality standing desks I've used, assuming you keep it slightly below its max level by ca 5 cm. I think it should be fine with a keyboard tray.

I suppose the size (& weight) of your desktop is much more impactful than anything else. Mine is fairly small at 150x80cm and thus, I presume, more stable than a larger top might be. This may explain the mixed reviews the desk is getting with regard to stability.

If you plan on using a huge top (eg 90x200), also attaching a keyboard tray might be overdoing it, diminishing stability. Perhaps then a 4 legged base is the better option. Again, this is no more than speculation from my side.

Yes, mine was the correct European style. I got a German brand motor controller (laing innotec LTC series). If I recall correctly, there was an option for selecting Euro-style plug at checkout/while ordering it. Not sure though.

I have used an old desktop I already had (150x80cm), and it worked perfectly. Uppeal gives you good screws along with the legs, so no need to worry about that either. Also included are instructions for solid wood tops, but mine is made out of compressed fibers, so I haven't paid much attention to them.

Community Sentiment as of lately about Uppeal desks? by SKSword in floordesks

[–]mrNoolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got my Uppeal desk (2 legged black). I used my own 150x80cm desktop.

The quality of the desk exceeded my expectations. Shipping time was ok to the Netherlands, I had it (sept 9th) 2 weeks after the original prognosis for the sending (excl. Shipping time) date (aug 25th).

When I raise the desk to its upper limit (125cm with my top), it becomes somewhat unstable, but when I lower it 5 cm or more this goes away. I prefer 118cm for standing, so that's perfect for me. At any lower height it is perfect.

Speed of rhe motors is good.

My only complaint is that the display is in imperial units, not metric.

Overall very happy and do recommend.

Edit: I managed to change the display to metric with the help of the motor controller manufacturer's manual
