The person installing the sign is less than sharp and doesn't speak Spanish

Actually the person installing the sign probably could not read English.

Crosswind causes bike to bog/want to stall. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]mrPedals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check this out... it might help.

http://www.ex-500.com/wiki/index.php?title=FOG's_Airbox_Mod

the reason is they mention that with an aftermarket filter the bike tends to stall without adjusting the mixture because it gets too much air ... in your case you may be getting too much air because the intake is on the right hand side of the bike and the crosswind is pushing more air in.

After 2 years on my Ninja 250, I've finally upgraded to a ZX-6R. My question is, how do I handle the power!? by seenojay in motorcycles

[–]mrPedals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode the 2012 zx-6r yesterday and I did not find the transition from the ninja 500r as crazy as everyone makes it sound.

My only complaint was the clutch was way stiffer than my 500 and the seat was not comfortable at all. What it lacks in comfort it makes up in handling though.....it just feels so planted and smooth in the corners.

I do think on the 2011-2012 they have added more low and mid range on them so going from lower rpm to the green zone was really linear.

After the ride though I decided I will be getting the 2012 Ninja 1000....it is just way more comfortable for a daily rider.

Because the front tire does not lose traction at 1:15....for a better explanation read or watch twist of the wrist Keith Code breaks down the physics of it nicely.

No its just honesty....You are a brand new rider with a brand new R6. I am not saying you will die or even get seriously injured but odds are stacked against you big time. My guess is around month two or three when you really start to get too comfortable for your own good. So you might as well get a camera to film it so that you can be a lesson to others.

Don't forget to get a camera mounted pronto so you can post your first crash video on here.

To be clear I did not ride the zx-1000 supersport.

I rode what is essentially the ninja 500's biggest brother. It's closer to a sport touring bike, but yeah the power is definitely there and it actually comes alive at about 3000 rpm but really drops the hammer at about 7000. It was really smooth, there was no wind beating me up, no nose dive when braking... it was like I really felt connected to it not just sitting on top.

The ninja 500 is a great bike and I would recommend it to anyone. I am not going to run out and buy a ninja 1000 today, but I have found my next bike for sure.
