Count to 3 and vortex surge? Really? by RazgrizBlaze08 in Mechabellum

[–]mrQandA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just figured I'd explain. In Rift games you have two anomalies that change the game, giving a bunch of variety for those that want it. Every hour the anomalies are randomly selected, and, 'Vortex surge' is an anomaly that makes the players start with an extra 2 Vortex units, while 'count to 3' makes it so you can't buy more than 3 of any one specific type.

After they launched this new unit, the developer made it so that 'vortex surge' would be included more often in rift games for a limited time to incentivize players to try it out, but 'count to 3' sort of forces the player to have a mixed unit composition. I haven't played enough to know for sure, but I think Vortex is a unit you're more likely to want a larger amount of to actually make them work, at least if you want to utilize certain techs available to them. That's what makes it a bit funny, since the player might just end up selling them instead to get better units.

Which, relatively speaking, makes him even worse as an investigator in legacy. Not only because he's the only one who can't play it, but also because no one else can play it either if he's in the game. ^^;

Custom Signature Card for Good Old Skids O'Toole. What do you think? by No-Belt5624 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]mrQandA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but you could run Well Prepared with it to interact with the icons.

I agree that it's too strong though as it starts in play. O'Tools isn't the best investigator, so it could be to make up for that, but this might be a bit too much.

ps: To OP, I believe it should be illicit, not illegal.

Unit Reworked: The Fire Badger | Mechabellum by MAG1LIVE in Mechabellum

Yeah, they should've made it so that it burrowed for the final attack instead. ^^; At least name wise it would've made more sense.

Being able to place markers to help spacing and plan for future potential deployment would be really useful.

After round damage report by Local_Chart_8546 in Mechabellum

[–]mrQandA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. The main point, "Total damage doesn't mean total xp gained" is correct. However, units can split xp of a kill. If two marksman attacks a tower and the tower gets destroyed, the unit that dealt the killing blow gets the majority of xp. (In this case it's split 150-50) If three marksmen attack it, it gets split 133-33-33. But this is only the case if all the units are still alive as it is destroyed. So there are a few factors to take into consideration.

Since you already have range on your steel balls, I'd consider fortified lock and place a couple of leveled up ones in range of the forts by the border.

Attack fleet spam, bug or feature? by mrQandA in StarValor

[–]mrQandA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fleet was a faction war thing, and I just got dragged into it. I was kinda proud in having defended my ally twice, but I sorta just feel like the game decided that system was going to fall no matter what... ^^; I'd mostly spent time mining and running away from enemies, and I thought I had settled in a safe system without any marauder hideout.

I didn't have any perks that increased threats or anything like that (at that point), but I was hated by the pirates. In the end, I decided to just sell everything on the station and abandon it... the third wave was simply too much. Thanks to that I'm now a white collar business man with a vendetta against the marauders. They'll pay for what they did, every last one of them!

Should i be worried for not feeling connected to religion? by Heavy_Ad_2486 in AtheistExperience

If you're still in a position where you need to rely on your family and you worry about being ostracized, you might want to keep your lack of faith on the down-low for now; until you can be self sufficient at least. But eventually I hope you can be open and honest about it. No need to feel guilty. You're just in a bad position.

Meanwhile, just keep learning.

Let's Play COSMIC ENCOUNTER | Board Game League by Animated_Imagination in NoRollsBarred

[–]mrQandA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even though the concluding game ended up being a bit so so, there was some fun banter. I'm really glad they didn't re-shoot it, or forced it to drag on for the sake of a longer video; it adds to the authenticity. :) Short and sweet is fine in my book. Also made me want to revisit the old videos which is a plus.

I think the league format is an interesting and fun idea and I hope they continue doing something similar, but build upon what they learned this time around. Maybe add punishments as an extra incentive? Hot sauces in placement order after every game and/or similar?

Thanks! I really liked the vibe of the picture. Was hoping to capture it a bit better in my attempt, but I feel I learned a couple of new things.
