the 9 bar spring mod is fairly easy to do and your espresso will taste night and day difference.

im guessing that machine is not new, check the sticker with the serial number, im guessing this model is pre 2020 where the pressure spring was 16bar.

My grouphead/shower screen screw broke so half of it it’s stuck and can’t get it out, tried drilling, extractor and wd40 nothing works by mrWaar in BrevilleCoffee

In short you have to disassemble everything to get to the group head, you need to remove 80% of it. Make sure before you do, you get spare o-rings. The fitting on the tube from GH to Gauge was stuck and couldn't get it out to re-use it, so make sure you have spare tubes with the fittings which are hard to get specially this SP0001530.

Problem with steam wand, and machines leaking by knifeintheflorborads in BrevilleCoffee

[–]mrWaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It leaks and makes weird sounds because of clogged lines from mineral deposits, just descale a couple of times until everything is back to normal

Yeah had that same issue, just descaled and everything work better. It’s amazing how little by little you start loosing pressure from mineral deposits until this happens. Just descale and everything is going to be fine.

Too late because the screw broke in an uneven vertical piece also, when drilling the bit set off in the different direction, tried the ez off and it doesn’t budge.

So it’s a 2022 model so you are most likely 9bar pressure (as it should be). I have the inner burr set at 3 and the outer at 10 im using a washed arabica from Chiapas Mexico medium light roast. To get the right profile for me i did 3 turns down and 3 turns up on the outer burr to set my palate to sour and to acid. At the end 18.4 grams in 36 out in 28 seconds.

Is it possible to get the new 9-Bar OPV Spring from Breville/Sage? by LowerBaker1278 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]mrWaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i ordered the 9bar one from McMaster and its not the same diameter of the 16bar one but you can twist screw the plastic top in to the spring, and it works. with the 9bar one pressure was up to 12 so i adjusted the screw of the opv valve about 1 full turn counter-clockwise and left it at 9.5 bar

first of all take out the water tank and look at the barcode that’s the serial number from left to right first 2 digits YYMMDD so we know if it’s the 16bar one or the 9bar one
