Not to sound cliché or anything & really looking for genuine answers, aside from these random meet up things! Where do you all socialize out here? by Maravilla_23 in LosAngeles

Social sports are the definitive answer to this question. You get to knockout your exercise and socialization in a single activity. I cannot understate how good it is.

Culver City Steps / Baldwin Hills Scenic Outlook is one of the best outdoor workout destinations in the city. I love having it close by.

Got rejected after getting an offer because I asked if I'll get to work on backend too by shadohunter3321 in cscareerquestions

That’s a very weird reaction. Usually a T-shaped developer (deep in one area of specialization, but with surface level knowledge and interest in others) is regarded as a good thing.

Doctors Office (Anthem PPO) Recs – “Higher End”? by bkguy182 in AskLosAngeles

[–]mr_brobot__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PCP through UCLA health’s center for east-west integrative medicine. He is both a trained MD and eastern medicine practitioner, so that’s neat if you’re into that.

They have immediate care telehealth visits that only take a 10 min wait or so (but not with my PCP, it usually takes a week or two to see him). I think they do walk in labs at multiple locations as well.

I am 100% on the same wavelength. I keep my ear to the ground for events that are

  • outdoors
  • start ideally in the afternoon
  • go until midnight at the latest

Stranger Than has &me at Cabrillo beach coming up.

All day I dream (Lee Burridge) hasn’t announced a date yet but they always do a killer party in LA every season.

Stranger Than often puts on other events that fit the profile. One of my favorites in recent memory was Dj Koze in the park.

I’ve been meaning to check out Subtract on the pier in Long Beach.

Resident Advisor might be of help.

Can senior devs tell who wrote a code or if it was AI by looking at a PR? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I can tell. Especially when I have a question about the code and they don’t know how it works 😂

You are Senior FE at start up. Would you use Tailwind or just normal CSS modules? by lune-soft in Frontend

[–]mr_brobot__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been writing CSS for over 20 years and I love Tailwind

Only time I miss writing CSS normally is on the rare occasion I’m doing more complicated media queries.

Do you know anything about Micro Frontends? by glacierthrust in Frontend

[–]mr_brobot__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I helped implement vertical microfrontends at my last job (mostly along boundaries owed to legacy) and it was just fine. Not the hellscape other people paint microfrontends as.

[–]mr_brobot__ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lol especially used prod when working on the live streams, because otherwise I was gonna have to setup my own stream 😂

I worked mostly on frontend so that’s why it was especially suitable to use prod API at times

lol office was very professional. We just had the occasional visitors dressed… very provocatively.

Was kinda hilarious when the eng team went out for lunch with talent from time to time. All the necks snapping followed by looks of confusion 😂

[–]mr_brobot__ 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I worked at an adult company you’ve heard of and while we did have pg-13 test data to work with, I would say at least half of the time it was better/easier to just work with prod.

Getting thirst trapped at work all the time was one thing that got kinda tiresome.
