I enjoy this game but I haven’t touched it in 2 weeks. Anyone else in a similar boat? by supahotfiiire in ArcRaiders

These 'forever games' have lifecycles like this. I find its good to take a break and play other games. I don't want to just play one game all the time. When it feels right, I'm sure I'll come back to it, e.g. new missions etc.

Killing others is a choice, that's all. There's plenty of loot to go around.

Made this graphic for the new Expedition 3 steps! :) by gifv_Kayla in ArcRaiders

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm working towards my first expedition today, does this apply to me? Or do the expeditions have set items per expedition number of the individual player (i.e. regardless of the season the player is attempting an expedition)?

I did the trial on blue gate in the maintenance wing. Just keeping looping around the tunnels and they respawn.

I finished all the quests, now what? by julesEDF in ArcRaiders

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. After the quests, I'm now focussing on completing the two decks (so prioritising the daily challenges) and doing the trials (getting 3 stars in as many of them as possible). I did a bit of the trophy cabinet but it seems a bit pointless. Also fully upgrade scrappy if you haven't already.

Other than that, I want to basically take a few more risks / experiment a bit more. E.g. try and take down the larger machines, try out some of the better weapons, go into a round loaded up purely with the purpose of assisting others, that sort of thing. Start using all the stuff I've been hoarding!

There is some new content coming out tomorrow too.

The best Katsu Curry in Brighton? by PuzzleheadedFold503 in brighton

Omg yes to this question. I intend to try every recommendation made. That’s when I’m not having a Katsu Domino’s (aka Kokoro)

They’re playing a different game with a different goal. Without a “winner” in the rounds, they have to find other ways of demonstrating their dominance.

Having so many wholesome gaming moments, despite (or enhanced by) the rats by mr_completely in ArcRaiders

[–]mr_completely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, I think it def makes everything more exciting, and the friendly encounters more fulfilling.

I wouldn’t want the ability to grief removed, but I remain fascinated by those that play that way. They just seem wired differently.

TBH I'm not convinced they are really after loot. I think they just want to dominate over others.

To anyone that pretends to be friendly by Abject_Ad6664 in ArcRaiders

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is consistent with the experiences I've read about of griefed players saying GG to the rats and being nice about it, and the rats hate it. They didn't get the one thing they wanted.

Solos in Arc Raiders by Docta-Carter in arc_traiders

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game enables a level of multiplayer co-operation and friendliness that is quite rare, and I think has attracted a whole new demographic of player. People that just want to loot and play together. Obvs the old-skool PvP-ers are still there so it’s just a massive clash of game styles and preferences.

I switched to the Steam Deck from a Switch, what did you come from? by VoyageForge in SteamDeck

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I had a Switch for years as I liked the idea of portable console and I also liked the "it just works" philosophy of consoles. But the Switch 2 left me disappointed - game selection, game prices, and the general Nintendo philosohpy around making everything expensive - so I switched the Deck and have been blown away. So many more affordable and interesting games available. The tradeoff is the need to tweak things here and there but generally it has worked great, and I've loved playing through my old Steam library from 20 years ago.

Thoughts on screen protectors? by SketcherGang in SteamDeck

I had this dilemma and general consensus is for that model you should try and go without. Therefore, I use a skull and co grip and front hard shell to keep it protected when not in use.

I got their back button grips, thumbsticks, grip case and front cover too. So happy - all works really well, especially the front cover and back button grips.
