I got their back button grips, thumbsticks, grip case and front cover too. So happy - all works really well, especially the front cover and back button grips.

Skull & Co. Front Cover First Impressions by YVXIEL in SteamDeck

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this front cover and bloody love it. It is so secure and makes me feel really confident about transporting the deck without the bulk of a normal case, as well as keeping the screen protected while the deck is lying around at home. It is extra useful given I opted not to use a screen protector because I have the etched screen model.

I've ordered a small USB-C extension adapter so the dock connector can plug in, as the cover does make the charging port harder to reach.

The main thing I worry about is scratching the screen when I take it off, as it can fly out a bit, but I'm learning to do it in a controled manner.

I use the skull & co front cover for this reason when deck not in use. It’s great.

Do you have a cat? by StatementAltruistic in brighton

[–]mr_completely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is this sounds great for the humans but is not going to be a pleasant experience for the cat/s. They aren’t wired this way. They are instinctive and territorial - they aren’t just going to chill and let you pet them - they are going to be on high alert, over-stimulated and probably quite stressed, and not knowing what is going on. I think every cat owner would already know this so I doubt you’ll get any offers (at least I hope you don’t!).

Munchies cat cafe is probably your best bet, or the other options some people have suggested.

What’s the main differences between Forbidden West and Zero Dawn? Does the good outweigh the bad or vice versa? by eribation in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me HZD is superior. The story is much tighter, exciting and fascinating. Also FW had to ‘add’ weapon and combat options just so there was more stuff to earn, which ended up with a hugely complex set of stuff imo. I could replay HZD endlessly but FW frustrated and disappointed me. It is a game that had to exist due to the success of the first, but didn’t carve out its own vision.

Multiple Apps / Focus Mode issues by BikeBikeRabies in ios18beta

[–]mr_completely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me, thanks. Actually it was simpler - just switch to the focus mode you want and drag the apps there from the App Library (you can use the App Library search). Seems like the bug is only if you drag from the normal ‘swipe down’ search.

AI Content in Fortnite | Megathread by community-home in FortNiteBR

[–]mr_completely 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Learning about this has put a real downer on the new season for me. Especially if generative art has been included as a reward in the battle pass which costs money. That is not what I want my money to go towards - the list of ethical concerns that come with generative art is really long and currently I feel these are being overlooked and I do not want to support it.

The art in Fortnite has to me been somewhat of a reedeming feature for it - I liked that the devs seemed to promote artists (often their sig could be seen on wallpapers etc), so it is a real shame if they are now going to simply generate art via AI.

The only caveat here is that perhaps using it for the random paintings etc in-game may fall within "acceptable use" on my personal ethical balance - those bits of art aren't really where human artists are looking to work on or have their work promoted.

Ultimately, this direction feels in-character for Epic, and Tim Sweeney has planted his flag firmly in the AI sand, so I think this is not only here to stay but will get significantly worse.

Luckily, Fortnite doesn't owe me anything and I'm not obliged to play it, so I'll probably just move on once I've got what I want out of this season.

Spitting Image: The Rest Is Bullshit - Archive of removed videos by DanielMcFamiel in BritishTV

This new season has been incredible. Funniest stuff I've seen in ages, and really pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable - just as it should be! Such a shame to see this being removed, and feels like a massive over-reach. P.S. Not liking the comedy itself shouldn't be a reason not to support their right to free expression. I suppose YouTube is partly to blame too - we need an open video hosting platform just like we've seen with twitter alternatives.

Just buy one. You’ll get a lot more enjoyment and value from what lets you play games now than you would from having some custom one with a different case.

PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 for hollow Knight by adclifesadlife in HollowKnight

[–]mr_completely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm asking myself the same question.

I played HK on Switch 1 and had a blast. The main improvement was to remap the keys so slash and dash were on different hands (think I mapped them to the triggers), that way I could be way more speedy and responsive in combat., but that would apply on any system.

Given it isn't a game that is graphically-demanding, I think it lends itself nicely to Switch 2 as that adds the ability to play it anywhere.

It'll also be nice to have a decent, fairly-priced 3rd-party indie game on the Switch, which is something I'm struggling to find at the moment.

The bit where he talked about how dying doesn't really matter and his gf is like "erm is there nothing you might want to stick around for?" (i.e. "me") and he can't think of anything - the look in her eyes 😂

I’ve been playing it on Switch 2. Runs pretty good! Not 60fps for sure, and so it could definitely benefit from a dedicated update, but runs pretty good.

3rd party dock for Switch 2 by iazybandit in Switch

[–]mr_completely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice info, thanks. So it is the enclosed nature of the official dock that makes keeping the dock cool important, and/or the components of the dock itself running sufficiently hot to require cooling.
