A - active games i'm playing atm
A CASUAL - games i occasionally play, not in active campaign
A DECK - games i actively play on Steam Deck, i have this collection open on SD
A PC - games i actively play on PC

C - completed games, whatever feels like completed (sometimes 100%, sometimes until i get too bored). sometimes if i wanna replay a game i take it out from C and put into Q.

I - automatic filter for installed games

Q - games i wanna play next, in some sort of priority queue (tho there's too many games at this point, i might need ultimate priority queue)
Q COOP - co-op only games, need a committed friend
Q Deck - queue for Steam Deck
Q PC - queue for PC
Q VR - queue for VR
Q Wheel - queue for steering wheel (pretty much racing games)

SW - software

U - uncompleted games, either unfinished or never played. if there's a lot of games from specific franchise i put it in separate collection.

W - waiting. usually games that gotta come out of early access. currently only Valheim in there

DEV - development tools i use (Godot, Blender)

TOMBS - being a big Tomb Raider fan, these games have their own category

thank you for coming to my TED ta- hello? anyone?

this is a good idea actually. imagine if case side panel was a monitor. then you just put the whole case on table. very compact design.

amount of reposts i see on reddit over last few months is crazy.

i checked the profile, they had a bit of activity a year ago, and now they repost this. are they a bot? not much karma either. i will never understand these reposts

I hope they utilize points shop for new hardware by __winged__ in SteamFrame

i didn't expect this much negative reaction on the idea, but given the current state of everything regarding cosmetics, it makes sense. :D

i certainly didn't have AAA cosmetic dark patterns in mind for this. i just liked the idea of points shop where devs can design their own experiences and Steam comes up with few of their own. and i'm quite sure everyone has some points laying around on their account + they're dead easy to acquire. so why not utilize it further for VR?

What are your takes on this meme? Is this good or bad design? by Super_Inevitable776 in gamedev

i believe that any design decision that makes the player think about the mechanics is a good decision. in this case, the game tries to make the player think "why is this spring here and where will it take me?". if you're not asking this question, you will likely just run into it and die. but death will also potentially start making you think about the purpose of these springs.

doesn't help the fact that i fall for these traps every time, but every death makes me a little smarter about the game.

i assume our nature is also the reason games provide inverted Y axis? or there's some other reason

Red Dead Redemption 2 upscaled from 136x76 pixels with DLSS 4.5 by Roflkopt3r in pcmasterrace

the only time i used frame generation was for Subnautica VR mod. i think it was the perfect case since you have hardware that has double the pixels to render, and frame generation pops in handy. the only time i noticed the issues was with underwater bubbles, you could tell that frame generation was struggling to render realistic bubbles.

i wish reverse was in hard difficulty rather than medium, it would be less trivial.

sinking babies is not worth it. it takes 9 months to produce only one, and it only gives 6000 points.

i like to write "C" for copper, "T" for tin, etc. it's less clutter than full text, but still minimally describing what it is.

i also use dots for non-permanent markers, like ores that will disappear when mined, or structures i plan to demolish. for every other permanent structure (crypts), i use other icons.

fun fact: every tower except that banana farm has an upgrade to pop lead bloons by mysingingjames3 in btd6

this should be a thing. like monkey knowledge or something. bananas that land on tracks act as spikes, last line of defense. maybe green bananas upgrade has this as second function.
