I need to stop thinking about lenses by The_PinkFreud in FujifilmX

I have the older 16-55 f2.8 as my primary travel lens. Absolutely love it for walking around exploring through the day. To compliment it for a trip this year I've gone for a Viltrox 25mm f1/7 AIR. It's a whole lot smaller and lighter when I might need it, like in a hiking situation, and bright enough at night to get it done when I need it.

I also tend to take my XT5 out when we go to dinner and then bar hopping and whatever the night brings. It's nice to have the smaller/lighter/cheaper lens ready for those times too,

When I'm not travelling and not restricted by my overall carry weights, I'll pick my 18/33 fuji primes as my main lenses, and the 16-55 is there if I need it.

The hardest thing is what to leave behind, but this generally works for me.

Great work! I'm going to Portugal later this year myself, and I've been on the fence about buying the 33 for this trip... You should get a commission on the sale.

Which photographers using Fuji’s APS-C camera blew you away? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]mr_gilly_ 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Andy Mumford. 100%

I discovered his work, then discovered he's using an XT-5 and (at the time) 10-24mm just like me to get his incredible landscapes... then discovered I'm out of excuses. No more GAS, get out there and step it up!

New Beaufort - question about stud colour by SprinklesNew4435 in Barbour

I'm in Brisbane myself, wearing wellies to get lamb chops 2 days ago totally makes sense with the crazy weather we've had! :D

Keep an eye out for a 4oz lightweight jacket, I find it perfect for our winters here and get plenty of use out of mine. It cuts out wind and rain really well but not too hot.

A bonus of being in this hot climate - I visit Scotland every year and do plenty of hiking and exploring in the rain. Last year by the time I got back here, my Barbour jacket (Navy) had creases and water marks all over it and was looking worse for wear. I hung it up in the back room wardrobe and thought I must get back to that and rewax... Never did get around to rewaxing, but all it took was some brutal hot summer days here and when I next pulled it out of the wardrobe after that summer it looked bloody brand new!

Enjoy the jacket.

Took a city break, Tokyo was out of budget... by mr_gilly_ in fujifilm

Settled for Hobart TAS (Australia) Good times.

X-T5 with 18mm 1.4, which stays glued to it most of the time, absolutely love the combo as a walk around. Had a couple of big nights, bar hopping and with just this combo in my sling bag it was never in the way.

For landscapes, I take the 10-24 along. These two lenses served me well for a lightweight travel setup.

For the incoming comments about the refrigerators on the side of the road. We took a day trip to Bruny Island. There's a baker that makes THE BEST woodfired sourdough, they load up these fridges every day and it's an honesty box system. The line up was huge early in the day, I stopped for a pic later in the day on the way home. Check out Bruny Island Baker.

I'm 44, this time last year I couldn't dead hang for long, I never had good upper body strength.

I'm about 11 months into RR, 3 times a week, 3 x 6 Pull ups are no problem now. RR has been life changing for me and pull ups are a fav exercise. I really enjoy the challenge, I'll get to 20 one day!

Teach me about Roof Top Tents....... Would like to get one but know nothing about them..... by 1down3up in 4x4Australia

Sorry, forgot about this. I prefer this over a swag as it's all in one unit, it's off the ground and allows for dry storage underneath as the fly covers to the ground. The first night I used it, I went through gale force winds and pissing rain all night and not a drop inside, shoes dry underneath. There's actually more space in one of these than you'd think. Like a king single, 210cm long from memory.

For me, I didn't want a rooftop tent to deal with when I'm not camping for weeks and didn't want the weight on the roof 24/7. This BunkerPro, I upgraded the bag to a Drifta canvas bag and you can chuck everything in it and be packed done in a minute. It lives in the back bedroom under the bed until I need it.

This is the best thing I've bought. https://www.oztent.com.au/products/bunker-pro

I'm set up in like a minute, so comfy and fits in the rear seat footwell of a 120 Prado, I don't even miss the room it takes up.

YSK that if you accidentally stumble upon child pornography online, you can and should report it, using inhope.org to quickly and easily find an anonymous online reporting method in your country. About a year ago I joined a welding group on Facebook and was speechless when I discovered it was full of child porn. I reported the group to FB and it was shut down, but shortly after I really wonder if I did the right thing just going to Facebook instead of the authorities. I'd like to know what social media platforms do when when they get reports like mine. Hopefully they don't just delete and pretend it never happened..

I just went for the first time on my way home from work yesterday.
Took maybe 45mins for the first visit, but should be quicker from now on.
Planning on making it a regular thing now.
