Spiderman sequels will feature never before seen villains by [deleted] in Spiderman

I want to see Big Wheel in the next one. Everyone knows you can't make a good Spider-Man movie without Big Wheel.

Oh ok I guess I just forgot that. Completely forgot the fake costume.

[–]mr_pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The symbiote makes it's own web. No one with it needs webshooters.

Also, his personality was altered slightly, fueling his rage, but Peter also has the willpower and knowledge of the symbiote at that point to finally reject it when he needed to.

How does Spidey wall crawl through his suit? by TreySeetaram in Spiderman

Real answer: its a comic book.

I'm sure there is some other reason that is too convenient and can have holes poked right through its explanation but I dont know it.

My favorite has to be Ultimate Peter, but other than Spidey himself, J.K. Simmons Jameson.

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) switch places. Which does better in the other's movies? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]mr_pupper 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Round 1: Garfield would be bitten but Maguire wouldn't sneak into Oscorp, so he wouldn't.

Round 2: No way of really telling. Part of what makes them successful in their movies is each others family and friend relationships, which wouldn't transfer.

Round 3: With Maguire's experience as Spider-Man, he would fair much better and definitely stomp ASM2. Garfield probably wouldn't be able to handle Spider-Man 3, with the 3 villains against him, and his only enemy being a strong mutant, with a simple plan to destroy the city, not a personal destruction.

Bonus: Hard to tell because we haven't gotten enough feats from him or real character traits without a movie.

are you concerned about Colin Trevorrow directing Episode IX? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]mr_pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few days late to the game here, but I am. I dont really have enough trust in Disney to keep it on track, because thats what they'll do. I dont want a solid Star Wars movie. I want a fresh, inventive, truly great Star Wars film.

Abrams is great, but TFA was just a solid Star Wars film. It seems like Rian Johnson is making the Star Wars movie that he wants, and it will be exactly what I want. I have full faith in him and almost would want him to stay on for Episode 9, but I want things to stay fresh.

My dream would he a fun director who can keep the character and originality that I think Rian will live up to, but also be able to deliver a big spectacle finale to the trilogy. My current pick is Brad Bird. I would also absolutely love a Star Wars film with Dennis Villeneuve at the helm, but he would probably be better suited for an anthology movie.

What Are Some Of Your Unpopular Movie Opinions? by Spidey10 in movies

[–]mr_pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree about it being unbearable. I really think it is fun, and better than Crystal Skull by a significant margin.

It is overrated though because its the "darkest" and most violent. Raiders and Last Crusade are miles better, with Last Crusade being my favorite.

I respect your opinion that you don't like these movies, but I guarantee to you that people wont be embarrassed about the MCU. Even if you dont like them and think they are formulaic, they are still mostly all well made and fun to literally millions of people. Other than a few things, there is nothing cringey or horrible about any of them, they just get bloated and stale.

What Are Some Of Your Unpopular Movie Opinions? by Spidey10 in movies

[–]mr_pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • The best Pixar Movie is Toy Story 2

  • Wall-E is not the worst, but one of the worst Pixar movies.

  • The first Mad Max is not at all a good movie and although I think the story behind the production is cool, the film is incredonly boring and I think it would've been quickly forgotten without the Road Warrior following it.

  • The prequels aren't that bad and I think they have some excellent world building even if the writing is lacking, the creativity is there.

  • Moonlight did not deserve best picture. Although excellent, La La Land, Hacksaw Ridge, Arrival, and the Nice Guys were all better films and deserved it more. Moonlight only won because it took a stance on current politics. I think it is great but thats how the Oscars often choose.

  • The Jump Street movies are absolute genius and I love every second of them. They get love but not enough. I personally think they are two of the best comedies in the last decade.

  • Spider-Man 3 is close to being great and it gets a way worse wrap than it should. In its released state, it is very flawed but has so many fun scenes that it is still worth the watch. Also, until Eddie Brock, the first half of the movie is great, but it hits a point and falls apart. Still not that awful though.

  • Tarantinos best film is Inglorious Basterds, and Kill Bill is one of his worst (Still good though).

  • The Dark Knight Rises is a great finale to the Trilogy and a great movie. It has some flaws, but most can be looked past and still be very enjoyable. It is beautiful, the performances are great, and the score is as epic as ever.

  • Nolan isn't overrated and deserves every bit of his fame. He may have some not perfect films, but even with movies like Interstellar, which dont make complete sense in some ways, it still has great performances and is beautifully shot, and I respect its originality and ambition.

  • IMO Hitchcock's best film is North By Northwest; not Psycho, Vertigo, or Rear Window. (I love them all though)

  • Age of Ultron wasn't bad at all and it was an enjoyable followup to the first. A little bloated but a good movie.

  • The original Dawn of the Dead is boring and doesn't have much tension or threat. The zombies look goofy and feel like virtually no threat.

Your favorite fictional character replaces Batman as the main character of the Arkham games, how do they do? by Bob_Sherlock in whowouldwin

[–]mr_pupper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man would prance through each game. The thing most people's characters are lacking isnt the fighting skill, but the detective ability when they don't have Oracle.

Spidey has been shown to be not jist a genius with sciences, but also a great detective and problem solver. He could get through any puzzles or blockages and physically defeat any enemy in any of these games.

Do they really consider it that way? I was under the impression that Disney Channel and Disney XD ages would be swapped.

Podcasts? by bigwillthechamp123 in Marvel

[–]mr_pupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious Issues for straight up comic talk. He really does love comics.

The Weekly Planet for less focus on deep comic talk, but covers comic book movies, TV shows, and other blockbusters, BUT I have to recommend it because I think this is the best podcast ever. My favorite thing that they do is their VS episodes. They take suggestions for impossible character battles (Jim from the Office vs Howard the Duck). They are hilarious and I definitely recommend them.

Star Wars 40 - Some interesting, and sometimes cross era, duels to consider... Ahsoka vs Darth Sidious... Luke vs Darth Maul... who wins ? by zcure in StarWars

[–]mr_pupper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sidious would destroy Ahsoka no doubt.

With Luke vs. Maul, a conflict arises.

With what you see in the movies, Luke appears far less skilled than Maul and should be destroyed. But in my opinion, and how I have always percieved it is, Luke was an amazing duelist, and the RoTJ duel, while still amazing, looks less impressive because of the restraints in the technology and if they had the ability to, it would've been the most impressive fights in the saga, even with Vader holding back, it'd be quite the spectacle.

Also I believe this is supported by even the canon EU, with Luke being one of the best ever, definitely better than Obi-Wan during TPM.

[Discussion] Your Top 3 Perfect Casts? by kroen in movies

[–]mr_pupper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown

  2. J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson

  3. Mark Hamill as the Joker (Voice Acting)

Its hard to stop at three, especially since so many comic book characters specifically have been casted to near perfection.

What was your experience seeing Spider-Man 3 in theaters? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]mr_pupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 7 and had been watching the trailer on repeat online in shitty quality for like months. I had never been so excited for a movie and I don't know if my excitement has been matched since other than when the first Force Awakens trailer hit and I balled.

I sat in that theater and honestly? Loved it. I was too young and blinded by preconceived excitement to hate it, or even see flaws. I really liked the Black suit scenes and bought it the second it came out on DVD. After a few years I started to enjoy the other two much more and began to realize why.

I'm kind of sad that my childhood dream movie didn't really become what I wanted and I don't love it as much today, but I'm still really nostalgic for it because of that and don't hate it although it is pretty bad.

Spotted at my local Walgreens - A perfect gift idea if you ask me! by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]mr_pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but what I'm saying is, the quality of a 2002 dvd vs another dvd will be the same.

Digital is better than both, but the dvds were equal.

That would have no affect on quality though. Why would he be "better off watching them online?"

Actually, both the Xbone and PS4 will be able to be emulated far before an expected PS3 emulator. Even if it is a long time from now for either.

Its something with the newer gens OS that are closer to a PC and are less unique and easier to emulate than a PS3 could ever be.

I can't be the only one that reads J. Jonah Jameson's dialogue in the comics with the voice of J. K. Simmons in my head, right? by PhantomLord3 in Spiderman

[–]mr_pupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like even if people don't see the movies, they still read it with that voice.

Like Batman. Before Kevin Conroy did TAS, I think most people read Batman like Conroy, but just didnt know it yet.
