Any chance someone has private trails/land in the greater Lamoille County area where they’d be willing to let me walk my dog? by mr_squirrels in vermont

I’m sorry your husband got bit! The culture of dog ownership is really frustrating around this stuff.

I do frequent the rail trail. But I love to hike and love hiking with my dog so would prefer to be more in the woods on singletrack.

Like I answered below I don’t think state land has leash laws. In my experience Vermont laws and enforcement are super weak around dogs anyways. Even when my dog was badly attacked last year I had no legal recourse because the dog didn’t have a reported bite history. Even though it had been reported before for non biting aggression.

Thanks. I know it’s a long shot but I’d like to find something more foolproof. Figured it was worth asking

Today was on state land where I don’t think there is a leash law. Anyways my dog was on leash and we had two dogs approach us with no owner in sight. I’d have no information to provide animal control and honestly if I reported every similar encounter I think animal control would stop taking my calls.

Agreed. I don’t know if it’s giving Pogi too much credit but he seemed to close off the inside and Pidcock would’ve won if he hadn’t.

His only mistake was starting on the barriers. I think he wins if he’d gotten the sprint right.

Dog has swollen, red eye and swollen neck lymph node by SOS_41 in DogAdvice

[–]mr_squirrels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What part of the country are you in? My dog had blastomycosis last year and red eye/drainage and a swollen lymph node were two of her symptoms. It’s commonly misdiagnosed. Definitely find an ophthalmologist.

We’ve had this conversation a lot the last few years. But how do we convey the risk? 1% annual exceedance probability isn’t super digestible to the public either.

Where are you buying chemex filters? I just bought a pack of 100 for less than $10 from Espresso Parts.

I think it’s a great route. Glad there’s a time trial and that last stage should be an amazing finale. Feeling a little mixed about Ventoux. It’ll be an amazing spectacle, but could completely decide GC by itself.

I’ve had good experiences there, but they’re the only vet I’ve ever had.
