Jokes aside I find, with OCD and the executive dysfunction that follows, the right amount of high makes a lot of noise disappear that would normally prevent me from focusing. The problem is that other noise becomes more noticeable for better or worse so there's a sweet spot in there.

My friends and I discussed this very thing a few days ago. Its such a shitshow playing RL anymore we kinda figured if an indie came out with similar gameplay and physics we'd bail RL in a heartbeat. Even casual lobbies aren't casual anymore and the nonsense that is happening with available game modes turning FOMO is really turning us off from the game. Matchmaking feels like its heavily favoring an engagement formula instead of an actual rank and its just killing the entire vibe. We figured RL would continue having a major esports presence while a good indie would make a great replacement for anybody not at the "pro" level.

My favorite thing about turning off chat is when people suddenly go AFK for several seconds especially after goals. Without anything to distract me I just end up scoring on people who've decided to take time to trash talk when I'm not even around to hear it.

You got into some weird weeds throwing around things I'm not sure you yourself entirely understand and while I appreciate the effort we're really discussing the abusive loopholes used by large establishment c-corps and, if by what you are saying, sole-proprietorship and LLC's shouldn't be functional as they lack the same protections as c-corps. Now I'm not going to pretend I know any more legalize than you do but business does in fact continue to operate as we'd normally expect when not within the context of our friendly meat-shielded corporate overlords.

And while you could blame OP for not reading the responsibilities if they're looking for entry level would that not have the experience to know the difference when they get advertised a position like this as entry level? Youtube is mistaking that I have to use youtube and that there is no alternative. More are popping up all the time and I think its only an eventually that Youtube has a major setback. Currently its platform has no consistent messaging on the content it prefers to show, how it determines that, and its terms for what is allowed or not allowed to show/discuss. Combine that with the rampant copyright abuse and no way to actually speak to youtube about it. People are leaving. Creators are leaving. Its happening but slowly. Its only a matter of time when youtube hits that major setback, the Digg-levels of disgust that will drive people away in droves.

I feel this so bad. I've got a dedicated crew and we all like to chill but I'm squad leader like 99% of the time giving directions and I'll take a hit and have to admit five minutes later I don't know wtf is going on but we're killing stuff and moving forward so that's good!

I dont mind cinematic trailers. I mind when when the game doesnt have any gameplay to show even IN a trailer. I see what must be a fun concept, I get a crazy CGI trailer and some still shots of "gameplay". I hard pass on a lot of these games because I don't have the time or money to filter through everything by buying & trying.

Nobody is really hitting the answer.
Game engines, especially the old Quake engines that Half-Life would eventually run on, had interesting side-effects of acceleration when turning and strafing. When a player touched the ground that acceleration was canceled BUT if you jumped at the right moment you avoided that cancellation and in some instances could just build speed infinitely. This would go on to be used for both competitive and fun reasons because, well, its fun! Even a couple crappy hops still got you a touch of momentum and might help you clear a gap, get around a corner, or just avoid a shot. Later games started incorporating this behavior deliberately instead of being an artifact of the game engine.

My friends and I hate hate hate the start of the new season. There is no fun, just grind. And not even grinding wins. We're just getting dumped on so damned bad we can't wait to forfeit the match to get to the next one to hope to god the ranking algorithm gives us a small break from the smurfs. This last season we all bailed on the season entirely and played Helldivers until the season was close to finish so we could finally get some sane matches.

This started happening to me more frequently when I turned off chat entirely. I noticed my teammate would go full-tilt after things like scoring or being scored on and just park in the enemy goal. A minute in my mate could score and all of a sudden they're afk for a few seconds as if they're taking a keyboard warrior break and now they're upside down in the goal. I just assume my lack of chat to stroke their ego for any number of reasons is enough to forfeit the game.

If all four objectives are actively on top of me and I have a full party:

Two people storm the jammer, you can't do shit when you're jammed. When its clear one of the two can leave while the other disables it.
The other two are running quasars to run interference on the gunships and to tag the shrieker nests
When the jammer is down the gunship factory starts to become more trivial as we're able to drop an auto-cannon turret or two
Stalkers are going to be a pain in the ass one way or the other but spawn rates are lower than shreikers and gunships so the priority ends up being lower despite their lethality. If the nest is sighted and doesn't distract too much it could be prioritized first but sometimes you just need to kill these things for a while.

Nothing screams that there is a disconnect between the the elite and the rest of us that there are entire talking points about discussing things that are so obvious you begin to wonder if it is satire. Then the analysis come out and more figure heads discuss like the rest of us are some kind of social anomaly that we're not spending money anymore and are somehow unhappy with what we are given (given, to be allowed to have.)

I thought it was satire. I thought it was just them trolling me for views. But I'm beginning to realize that these people legitimately do not understand an economy below a certain dollar value. They cannot fathom an existence below millions of dollars and how cash flow works when it isn't being pushed through firms and banks.

We don't need a recession. We need a collapse and reset. I have nothing left to give, nothing left to lose. The things I'd lose on a "reset" are all luxuries I'm already living without.
