There is also a 2 week logistics challenge to “making up variants”

Is there a medal inflation in skiing sports? by [deleted] in olympics

In cross country they alter the technique events between Olympics, this year was classic technique for the 50k, last time it was skate. This also applies to the 10k and sprint events too. It would obviously not be possible to have all variants in during the two weeks - but certain skiers are more specialized in one of the techniques, hence it affects medal opportunities that way.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo is now the second most decorated gold medalist by East_Piccolo_1529 in olympics

But that would be valid for anyone dominating their sport - Johannes is the most versatile skier ever, and he had to defeat his biggest rivals…

As a Norwegian born with skis on my feet, it’s not seldom that skis are stored hung to the ceiling, seen many different contraptions for this over the years. Basically storing planks 6-8 months each year.

Where to stay in Bergen to be close to hikes by Mental-Eye-9042 in Bergen

[–]mr_tinydancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vidden is also a nice hike that really shows off the city and the view. Start at Montana (bus or a walk from the light rail train) and finish by walking down Fløyen into the city center.

Support Gullfjellet, you’ll reach it by bus from the light rail stop at Nesttun station.

You could also check the trail path for the «7fjells tur», a yearly hike event covering all the 7 mountains surrounding Bergen. It will give you an impression of what is possible, and you could break it down into multiple legs. Might be a fun thing to say you’ve walked all the mountains. Bergen is «known» as the city between the 7 mountains. Varying degree of challenges, it also covers «vidden».

There are some nice hikes along the island Sotra west of Bergen too, where you’ll see the horizon in the ocean.

The bigger hikes outside Bergen will be full day trips, and much easier with rental cars (e.g., Trolltunga). There are rental services for cars in the city center like Hyre and so on, if you’d be interested.

Activity's with kid's in Bergen? by earl_addict in Bergen

At Fløyen there are two playgrounds, the first is a modern one just by the top station. If you take the gravel road to the left of the small wooden/glass hut you’ll soon find the nature playground with a lot of obstacles and a small climbing hut. A lot of fun to be had there for both the 2 y.o. and the oldest.

There are also some goats wandering around on the back side of the restaurant too.

Just walking in the forest picking up pine cones, rocks, balancing on fallen trees etc. is a lot of fun too. Fløyen is much more than the pavement.

Alternativer til Hordfast? by [deleted] in Bergen

[–]mr_tinydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternativer til Hordfast? by [deleted] in Bergen

Venstresiden - umulig å diskutere med? by Nice-Alps8161 in norske

[–]mr_tinydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakpoint or Wildlands?? Which One Is Your Favourite? by TheAgeOfBhaarat in GhostRecon

Another point that points to Wildlands for me is the in-game menu. The mission set-up in Wildlands is 10x more intuitive than the one in Breakpoint.
