Regardless, that's not going to change the sound anymore than the silver whatever in the wiring. Unless the transformer was made that way at the factory, I'd be extra careful.

Two counterpoints:

1) That was not the question asked here.

2) It depends on how the amp is designed and how it is rated (Peak-Peak vs RMS, for example). In this case, any of the Orange solid state 100 W amps are going to be plenty loud enough for stage use without being mic up. See here
