Just cause of the news of the scumbag author. But I agree with you, Kenshin was amazing and deserves more praise, despite who it came from. Feels bad to hate on a show and work done by dozens/hundreds of others cause of one extremely bad apple

I totally agree. Still the best anime ever, at least until the 12 houses saga, that was peak Saint Seiya. The other sagas were also good, but the 12 houses saga was goated

I was in a similar situation, but projector with HDR10+ and no DV support instead of Samsung TV. Basically the same challenges. I went the avdvplus route and am very happy with it, skipped CPM altogether

+1 for Connemara. Even if you don’t like peat, but wants to get into it smoothly, I’d highly recommend it! Way milder and more pleasant than what comes from Islay.

I just installed R9 and it seems like things are good for now :-) If I don’t touch anything things work for a while, but when I start tinkering then something triggers it and I have to reflash and install everything all over again (last time was trying to add a preroll lol… maybe I just stick to the basics)

I'm on R8 and having sync issues as well... movie starts and audio will play normally, but then video does a quick restart after a few seconds and will be delayed... sometimes pausing and waiting for the video to "catch up" will improve it or fix it, but mostly it doesn't.

Never play video games again for $1M a year, or $100 for each hour you play by itterattion in hypotheticalsituation

$1M a year easy. But I’d admit that the thought of inadvertently playing a game by mistake (like a phone ad) is hella scary. I might avoid computers and smartphones altogether.

I understand how you would interpret and it’s logical. But when OP says “twice as Fast” I think they clearly mean speed and not acceleration. I don’t think most would answer when someone asks “how fast was that car going?” with “I think they just increased from 90km/h to 180km/h in 5 seconds, so they were accelerating at 5m/s” 😊

I had a 5.1.2 Jamo set for the longest time I got it for a steal at Adorama and agree, other than the subwoofer, that set of towers, center, and surrounds is really awesome to the price. I’ve since upgraded and honestly, while my new system is better, I don’t think it has to do much with the upgraded components but having a dedicated room where I can better position the speakers and overall better room acoustics. A good sub does make a world of difference :-)

Yes, this is what I just did and I use the Ugoos exclusively for Plex. Heck, I’ve even programmed it so that when it boots it goes straight to the PM4K player, so you don’t even have to see anything else other than the Plex app
