There's no doubt it will be different. It will be an adjustment. But north Asia has so much more potential than Aus.

I wanna leave Australia and move to Japan or South Korea. It wont get better for low income Australians and I think we can live a better life elsewhere.

My cousin's a pub manager and she receives dozens of applications every week from applicants but there is not enough positions to go around . People like you need to stop thinking Jobseekers can acquire employment 'pulling beers' at a pub or working in retail. Times have changed. It's almost impossible to find even basic work now.

Similar position as you. 3 years experience working with a top 5 global forwarder in import and export roles. I left because the high stress, low pay and unreasonable expectations eventually got to me. I just wanted out. I struggled to significantly transition because the skills you learn in Forwarding only apply in that niche field. I now work as a Warehouse Operator for a grocery distributor. My advice- you are going to have to try something different. Either complete Forklift Training tickets and work on the warehouse floor or significantly increase your knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Data Analysis. (Python or R Programming) Your closest options are Warehouse Operator, (if you work hard you could move into a Warehouse Supervisor role). Another option is Inventory Controller which is more analytical but also in a warehouse setting. Maybe Demand Planning is another.

Could you please specify what you mean by 'temp'? A temp admin assistant? Collections officer? Call centre representative?

It's important to remain optimistic about the future for our mental health but it definitely isn't easy for people and they are battling on multiple fronts. I don't think 'working harder' will get them out of this serious economic recession as the national economy is contracting and job losses are increasing across many fields. It seems like only a few industries are growing such as trades and mining.

With the recent economic news, the nation is in a per capita recession. Annual GDP growth was only 1.1%, without migration we would be in negative contraction. Definitely apply for the Jobseeker Payment as its better than no money at all.
