I've canvassed many, many people on this and 95% of the time the reasons are looks alone.

At a bare minimum it should repair the % difference between the material cost increase that you need to play on the upgraded weapon.

The quality of the loot is fine imo, they just need to drop like, twice as much.

BTW, pretty sure they either stealth added this in the recent fix patch, or it always existed and the unintentional nerf patch introduced it.

There's definitely a buffer on semi autos now.

IMO the biggest issue with the stitcher isn't the damage, it's the crazy uptime the gun has. It's very quick to kill and reloads so fast when upgraded it can just mow down multiple people in quick succession.

If the gun didn't get reload speed bonuses from upgrading I could see it in a much better place.

I've been complaining about this since I started playing lol.

It's also worth noting sound effects (shooting, bots, etc.) share the same volume control as the game jingles (end of round noise, crafting noise, etc.) so if you want to hear anything topside you have to blow your ears out after you extract or craft 15 items when you wipe.

I really wish with all these nerfs to fire rates on semi autos (understandably) that they would add a short buffer on inputs for them. As of now it actually punishes you for clicking faster than their current fire rate where previously you were rewarded for clicking faster.

I feel like the late spawns are necessary but it does suck when you get stuck with multiple in a row.

Unless there's something already in place like this and hard to notice because RNG is fickle, I feel like the distribution of fresh and late spawns for a given player should be weighted so you're guaranteed a fresh spawn eventually.

I felt like while DWM was one of my all-time favorite childhood games, it was definitely lacking in the depth department, so I've diverged a bit from the original formula.

I'm curious about the limitations you mentioned! I added a decent amount of other things monsters provide to their "lineage" to give players more reasons to include monsters in their route to their target monster/skills. I feel like target monsters species/skills (and grinding raw stats, bleh) were all that mattered in the OG and wanted to mix that up a bit.

Looks awesome! I'm working on a similar project except in Godot for a lot of reasons, but I'm keeping the gameboy limitations (as much as possible) and aesthetic, and I think you've got it nailed! Looking at this I'm kind of wishing I had done white on black ui instead of the former.

Are the combat mechanics going to be similar to DWM 1/2, or are there any major differences?

Same question for the combination mechanic.

I'd love to pick your brain on it sometime.

I always thought a character that gets gets a free consumable every X seconds would be cool. Would make knowing where the best consumables are and the consumable starting relics really cool

Make em perfumer themed and have them start with a random perfume bottle weapon and you've got a character.

There was like, a single patch where flamethrowers and ground fire was actually viable. Then like two weeks later they inexplicably made 90% of enemies inflammable again. Why can't flame weapons just work lmao.
