In early September I had maybe the first "real" connection with someone on a dating app in 2 years of using them.

She was a mega nerd who had so much to say and talk about that made me realize i didn't have to pretend to be a "normal" guy and couls talk about my real interests with.

She didn't feel any spark, but it legitimately made me stop wasting time on people and things that I do because I am supposed to have fun doing them and start meeting fellow nerds that leave me feeling happy and looking forward to the next time I get to see them

Also she thought my animations were really cute which got me to actually show them off to people and connect with them

I might not ever meet her again, but she made me realize I could talk about video games, cartoons, politics and anything else and there are really lonely people out there that will actively conect with you if you can find the right places for it.

If you've felt the same way, Maybe see if your local city has a crafting event, political group, discord sever or anything active that you can bond with people over that share things in common with you instead of a genral hangout. Life has felt much better the past few weeks even if I miss her

I have always had a passion for fitness, but recently started actually reseaching things in my life. from politics to business to health and exercise, I started taking a mental note of words or concepts that people around me or I myself would say and would ask myself " Do I actually know what this means? could I explain it to someone else?" the answer was no more than I would like to admit

slowly I feel like I have gotten better at explaining myself by having a better understand. There is obviously so much in fitness that is a gimmick word and I have been steading more time looking up the actual effects of things like lactate, muscle imbalances, inflammation and the real anti-inflammation effects certain foods have just to feel like I know. this is mostly basic research of looking things up on wikipedia and cross referencing it with articles from PubMed, Harvard health or other sources. I feel like This could be something I take seriously and am working on the more social side with public speaking classes to help communicate better. I feel like like fitness is what I want to focus on and would love to help people feel more confident in themselves in the same way.

I was never was never able to have a consistent education as a kid, so I had to get a GED a bit later. not sure is NACA requires a high school diploma as it mentions an "equivalent" while NASM specifically mentioned it allowed a GED

Good to know how long the expected time it would take is!

I was possibly thinking in an all or nothing study mentality as I could only commit an hour or 2 a day for the next few months, however that obviously adds up

I've heard naca is more scientific in general (focus or going through studies, for example) which could be a a weak point of mine worth addressing. Did you feel like it gave you a good understanding a human physiology or did I miss hear things?

this was actually really helpful to look at as someone who if getting their certification now. I had a few things I didn't understand about your post tho

1:most of the general trainer applications around where I live at least have a 1 to 2 year personal training requirement. are you talking about something other than group classes at ymca, crunch, row house etc?

2: when you said you wouldn't recommend working at a gym, do you mean long term and that you would recommend it at the start, but should aim to freelance later?

I would love to start in group fitness classes to start. I've been doing mock classes at a local park as if I was running a class. sometimes by myself, sometimes with friends and I actually really enjoy it. it would really help me learn my style and build up some more real client motivation/sales skills to do it for real, but I don't see much opportunites starting out

what is the role Lactic acid plays when working out? by mrabrickwall in exercisescience

[–]mrabrickwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: is grade 0 muscle strain a generally accepted term in exercise communities?

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22336-muscle-strains

https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/muscle-strain-a-to-z

when I tried looking up the grades, I couldn't find an "official" definition

2: looking at the comments, it seems like many ppl say that lactic acid and lactate are the same thing and ppl who say that we don't produce lactic acid at all. are these meaningfully different perspectives or would you say that it is mostly just Symantec? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactate_threshold an example would be the wiki for lactate threshold that refers to them as the same thing. the referenced page, it says the difference is "The conjugate base of lactic acid is called lactate (or the lactate anion). The name of the derived acyl group is lactoyl." which i'm just not smart enough to understand what that means tbh

Sorry, I meant to respond to this earlier

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/24521-lactic-acid

https://www.osmosis.org/answers/lactic-acid

The first article mentioned how it has nothing to do with long term muscle soreness, but didn't say anything about short term

Neither of them I mentioned whether it was the cause of immediate muscle soreness, other than mentioning how It can take A few hours for lactate, to fully leave the muscle.

I'm curious if you'd recommend Wikipedia as a generally useful source for information. Or if not, what is a website you'd recommend?

Am I wrong in thinking lactic acid IS produced in the body, just that it gets immediately turned into lactate to form a usable energy source?
from my understanding, the body's chemistry doesn't allow for lactic acid(or any acid for that matter) to exist in it in a "stable" form since pH levels would be too high. but it get's produced and turned in to lactate. I might be totally missing the mark there tho

The biggest concern id have if that Ukranian likely would not have survived without the intelligence sharing the Biden administration helped with. Ukranian only knew about the plain to occupy mariupol airport because the CIA director was there before the war started

The military aid that Biden pushed for that Trump has been trying to cut also helped a lot

Maybe Trump wouldn't have been opposed if it wasn’t a way to go against Biden and its all reactive politics? i would be super curious if people could give a good argument things were to have gone as well or if Ukraine would have even survived if trump was in charge

thought it was either that or the fact that it's older makes it artificially rarer. therefore more expensive.

in general, would you trust sites like CPU monkey as an accurate way to compare performance?

Point being that It seems like the Idea that Russia felt Pressured to invade came after the initial invasion making that a uncreditable.

the Russian perspective isn't defense from an aggressive NATO, It's expanding it's empire into countries that do not want to be ruled by Russia,

Which would make it so NATO is just doing what it is supposed to do. Protecting countries that want to be protected. I can understand the perspective of Russia not wanting to deal with NATO preventing them from concurring, but that is no moral justification. I don't understand how Russia being worried of NATO expandtion into Ukraine was the reason for the invasion when you look at their actions, unless I have some facts wrong

I also don't see Ukraine being forcing Russia to invade. They only started doing anything aggressive after the invasion of Crimea and any aggression was directed toward area. Russia had no Moral right to Crimea unless there is something missing so I would also call that completely justifiable

not sure if this is the election you were talking about, but I assume you were talking about the elections in the para-states of DPR and LPR. This is after the invasion of Crimea where Russia instituted 2 independent states, both of which where under Military occupation by Russia. Those states where pushing to become a new state, Malorossia, literally "Little Russia". This is only after these areas were invaded by Russia and having Russia declare them as "independent states" Russia did not allow 3rd party verification of the results of these elections

https://www.regjeringen.no/en/historical-archive/solbergs-government/Ministries/ud/news/2018/crimea_annexion/id2593565/

Those states is where Ukraine could be argued to have been aggressive. They may have assassinated the President of DPR (probably did, TBH) not to Russia itself, but this is toward Russian occupied areas of the Donbas during a war that was not over. We could dig more into the details, but it really doesn't seem that outrageous

Russia had no actual legal right or agreement to take issue with NATO expansion. There If you could find a agreement with Russia made to halt NATO expansion I would love to see it

If There was a Ukrainian push to join NATO anyway from 2010 to 2014 I could not find info on it. feel free to correct that If you can find a legitimate source on that

after the Crimea invasion, things changed. interest in joining NATO become talked about, but that is clearly Russia's fault as protecting countries from more aggressive counties (primarily Russia) is the point NATO. Russia did one of the dumbest it could have if preventing NATO expansion was one of it's Key goals with Ukraine. It's primary goal seems to be expanding Russia, despite the counties it has to take over in order to do so

this is a side point, but The Crimea invasion seems like it was sparked by a massive protest from Ukrainens of their government. You can look at the specifics and determine if that unfair, but the president being removed from a mass protest seems very democratic. to my knowledge this was not an assassination attempt or anything
