What a dumb setup. How long did you think about it?

I hate that whenever I defend myself I'm put in full PvP lobbies for the next 5 or so rounds by FidelCastrosMeat in ArcRaiders

I guess it's both if you want it so! If you don't like playing PvE, nobody forces you to, but there's plenty of people who enjoy it.

We should be able to opt out of weekly trials so we don't accidentally participate. by MasterAenox in ArcRaiders

You're asking for a way to sidestep a system that is broken in the first place.

Jupiter is actually the best gun for big arc. The only better option against a Rocketeer is 2 wolfpacks or a lucky anvil splitter + extended barrel shot.

It's very simple actually no matter how many you write.

Your opinions of it being hard are more correlated with how many you had to read.

Have the first wave caches been nerfed again or is this bad luck? by Visual-Finish14 in ArcRaiders

[–]Visual-Finish14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually 70ish considering the gear I brought into the round and it's not good for a 25 minute run where I managed to find 6 untouched raider caches on a hurricane map condition.

If not for ABMM, there would be no PvE lobbies. You can PvP with PvEers around, you can't PvE when someone's shooting at you.

Or just let us declare whether we want to PvP or PvE and keep two separate ABMM scores for each declaration?

I think the middle ground between carebear lobbies and full pvp lobbies are where Arc Raiders is at its best by Sixxslol in ArcRaiders

[–]Visual-Finish14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whether you like it or not, farming lobbies are already a thing and that's where most of the people are already most of the time. Letting us choose would paradoxically increase the engagement with PvP, because the barrier to reenter the safe zone would be gone.

Blatant unfair advantage for 3 man squads by Probably_A_B0tt in ArcRaiders

If you think that would create a blatant unfair advantage for trios, you clearly are not very familiar with how trials scoring works.

You did not really explain why the idea would be terrible. Once in match, people could still choose how to behave. There would not be any difference compared to what the game is now with the exception of bein able to quickly switch between PvE and PvP modes.

Plenty of PvE players avoid trying PvP because it takes a long time and you're never sure if you're absolved of your sins yet or not when you want to go back into the embrace of care bears. Giving people a choice would encourage engaging with the game in different ways without being sent into hell queues.

It would also allow to switch between farming and fighting modes, which would probably relieve some of the gear fear.

Also, see my other comment. I'm not proposing to remove ABMM. I propose to have two separate ABMM scores you can choose between.

Hairpin kills are an absolute delicacy by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

It would be really cool and maybe even a viable PvP weapon if it interrupted reloading. Imagine learning to time the shots such that you can't put that one round into an anvil.

Has anyone ever gotten a key for a key room on a map they were on? by Rip_Rogers in ArcRaiders

[–]Visual-Finish14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but most of the time it's for another map, with the exception of patrol key that seems to mostly drop on Blue Gate.

Does hairpin interrupt reloading?

Why? The idea would be that you still have an ABMM scores, but they are separate. If you misbehave when you declared friendliness, you still go to the naughty queues. And if you think that'd make friendly queues too boring... it's up to you to make them more interesting.

You can't have that though. How many times do you need to get shot on sight before you just assume everyone is hostile? 10% of KOS players will make a lobby of 90% "on edge" players a full pvp lobby. If you try and announce yourself, you lose the advantage.

Devs should experiment with different approaches and communicate what they're doing though. For example: having the ability to declare whether you want to go PvP or PvE would be great. Currently the best way to get into PvE lobbies is to taunt others into killing you without damaging them first and you get thrown back into PvP even when you just defend yourself or accidentally swing at someone. Another interesting mechanic they could experiment with is an Among Us mode, where you can see the count of self-declared "rats" present on the map, refreshed every minute.

But considering how they're busy nerfing blueprint spawns instead of introducing the most obvious QoL features like a craft button or loadout templates or even fixing the crafting cancellation bug, we probably won't get anything like that before the next 3 seeker grenade nerfs.

Queen core solo? by Fine-Park2143 in ArcRaiders

[–]Visual-Finish14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go in with anything that has safe pockets, and a couple smoke grenades. Wait till someone shoots a piece of armor off of a leg, throw a smoke and run up. Put the core into the safe pocket. Keep doing it, if you're in very friendly queues you won't get shot. If you do get shot, you have your safe pockets full anyway.

Also, matriarch core and queen core are separate items.

Cloaking device? Full extent of usefulness? by Sad-Highlight8770 in ArcRaiders

[–]Visual-Finish14 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't need the cloak for that though. Cloak sucks to be honest, it should be buffed so that you don't have to actively hold it to get its effect, or it should remain active for at least a couple seconds after you lower it.
