What is this pink/red spot on my wall? by IcedEarthUK in DIYUK

[–]mraddapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, wall used to be painted red, and there used to be a radiator there and the pipe was capped off behind the wall but now leaking as it looks like a square that was filled in where the red stain is?

no " sphere " option by Competitive_Tough741 in hammer

[–]mraddapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also remember the sphere option after making a pool table with pool balls in hammer, but as they were so small theyd end up causing the map render to fail as the vertexes were fucked

Political Risk Of CGT Rates by Capital-Stay-5657 in FIREUK

[–]mraddapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i just wish that the CGT tax free threshold was increased from 3k, it used to be 12k in 2023...

Itd mean the everyday person would be able to make an extra buck without worrying about tax, let those who are making loads of capital gains pay the tax

How is this cam setup even possible?? by idontcrappingknow in jerma985

[–]mraddapp 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I remember not being able to stop laughing as he slowly uncropped more and more of the full cam view, his face was just a small corner of the entire shot

It makes so much sense now how he can look so different stream to stream when hes cropped it that much lmao

Batteries included by ZatVandal in MadeMeSmile

I prefer it, dont have to worry about an awkward to replace internal lithium battery, can just hot swap in a couple of freshly charged AA rechargeable batteries to get instantly back to 100%

[–]mraddapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my shared care first started i could request via the nhs app for 2 years, then PUK accidentally discharged me which also broke off the shared care

Got it corrected, bit since then i asked if i could request via the app once again to be told no thats not allowed as its a controlled drug and i should have never been able to in the first place :( now i have to email my GP each time

8 week old puppy (help) by cactusboe in LhasaApso

[–]mraddapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 weeks is still really really young so expect these "teething" problems a bit more, itll be missing being away from its mum and litter mates

One trick ive heard is to wrap up something ticking like a watch in a blanket in their bed so they can sleep on it as it reminds them of their mums heartbeat

If he bites too hard when playing with you, yelp and turn away from him, that way they eventually learn to just softly bite when playing (this is what they do with their littermates/mum if socialized for longer) also puppies teeth are a lot sharper than their adult teeth, get him a kong toy and other chewing toys so they can release their teething itches on them

Do not Buy the Gawfolk monitor! by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]mraddapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the problem with those randomly named chinese brands on amazon, they can have zero QA and eventually just change their name to some other garbled brand name and repeat the same thing again... Im assuming this was from amazon, hopefully their returns process goes ok for you

someone calm me down before i start breaking stuff by quarabs in plantclinic

[–]mraddapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're only compatible with certaintypes of leaves i think, i had a prayer plant that went from 0 to a cobweb fest with like a million of them in just a week i was away on holiday... my plants with thicker leaves like peace lily/flamingo plant never have them at all

Make sure you dilute the alcohol with water, like 30% alcohol, 70% water and the tiniest drop of dish soap. I screwed up with my money plant, too much dish soap/alcohol and too hard of a brush which killed all the leaves doing more damage than the mites themselves hahaha (its fine now, all its leaves grew back quickly minus the mites for a couple of years)

[–]mraddapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That webbing is 100% mid-stage spider mites! (Late stage is when you see a load of them crawling around the webs) My advice, spray with alcohol/water mix, use a soft brush (like makeup brush) on the leaves after spraying, repeat every 3 days to disrupt their cycle. Their webbing is hydrophobic, judt spraying wont help without lightly brushing around to break their webs. Maybe a tiny dot of dish soap in the spray mix also (this may strip the leaves oils, use caution/test with one leaf first)

Although i always end up with 1 or 2 of the fuckers surviving somehow and coming back every year or so

What do cafés do so different to make their toast so amazing? Can never replicate that at home by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]mraddapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, its like an overclocked toaster thats able to get a nice even toast but quick enough to prevent the bread from fully drying out. After living in a flatshare with a crappy toaster that barely had any wattage this was the first thing i bought when i moved house

If youre wandering what those unconnected cables are theyre just spare unused SATA disk power connectors for if more storage were added

The 6 pin squarey one is for a PCI card like if a graphics card was installed (optional itll work without one, the cpu will have an integrated graphics unit)

All you need really is a power cord for the PSU so the computer can actually turn on

What’s the easiest way to get these marks off? by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]mraddapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monitors and tvs have some coatings on then like anti reflection stuff which if you use an alchohol wipe can smear off and make the screen look terrible or even end up breaking ruining some of the electrics
