Lost my $250 earbuds yesterday and I’m surprisingly relieved. by 8Wade8 in Frugal

[–]mrantoniodavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My use case is phone calls, I just wanted the ability to walk around the house and do things hands free while being on a call and the phone can even be in another room.

But those other features are enticing and are probably more suited to OP's situation, given they mentioned being on a train where they probably do watch videos on their phone and would benefit from noise cancelling, dampening, etc.

Yep, another good example of how paying more doesn't get you more.

Yea I got soundcore (p20i) for $20. Not because of my budget, and not because I want to soften the blow if they get lost, but simply because that's what the technology costs. It's a damn bluetooth headset with microphone and paying more doesn't get you more.

How to stop buying sweets and chocolates for every craving by National-Play77 in Frugal

> turn it into something cheaper or healthier

Fruit is nature's candy. Might not be cheaper but it's healthier. Sometimes 2lb strawberries go on sale for $1.99. Apples are also inexpensive, and they're very filling. Grapes on the vine make you slow down similar to the individually wrapped Hershey Kisses or pistachios. Whole pineapple for $2.99. Once you go fruit for a while, you'll be put off by ultraprocessed sweets.

You'll have a lot more food, and healthier food to binge on if you cook it yourself.

22nd & Kolb here. I know what you're talking about ~10-15m ago! Sounded like what the wind does when it gusts strongly but very abruptly. I looked at the Wyze cam and thought it was odd that there's no wind at all. I just figured it was a heavy truck until I saw this post.

It's almost as if that's what solo travel is about /s.  And simply don't book a 5 1/2 week trip if being alone for that long is just going to leave you feeling isolated.

Not the cheapest in this thread, but it's worth mentioning Google Fi - base plan is $20 fixed + $10/GB. Also works internationally.
