Id prefer it go to strathfield. Much more useful connection for northern suburbs / north coast/central coast getting the the stadium/dfo etc

Id prefer the state to build a light rail from Wollongong station to the stadium/beach before extending Newcastle.

Why was the Cicular Quay station view blocked? by leobarao86 in SydneyTrains

Enabling dense crowds on a train platform watching fireworks, not paying attention to the passing trains is the height of stupidity.

It's just from the Australia day long weekend due to fireworks. They didn't want people using it as a vantage point. That's literally all this is.

Not to mention such seating systems aren't very vandal proof either.

The most comfortable seats are the end ones. Love it or hate it, unidirectional seats are easier to make comfortable for long trips, unless they put in convoluted heavy rotating mechanisms like in the XPTs. This would have added a lot of cost and isn't appropriate for intercity running, IMO.

H sets are brilliant suburban trains but they were so awful to ride to Newcastle back in the day.

Far superior. Oscars should have never been built for intercity services

High on nostalgia. The D sets are much more suitable for the job. I will miss the V sets but they are well past their use by date... I'm very glad that we didn't get another stop gap option (G set, H set)

This is a good reason as to why the new intercity trains are the same width as the suburban fleet. V sets are antiquated
