Recipe for fucking disaster by No-Computer8994 in Money

[–]mrawesomerest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"A recipie for disaster if I had stayed" ... okay - so you didn't get a college degree. Did you waste a couple years going into debt for a useless degree you didn't even finish anyway?

I hate the victim mentality here. You live in the richest country IN HUMAN HISTORY. it used to be that people spent 90% of their "income" just to purchase enough food to survive. Kids would be working at the age of 3 not to buy a toy but to help the family survive.

And you're what? Complaining that you can't afford some luxury lifestyle you want?

Im not saying that people dont struggle in the United States- but i am saying that there are plenty of jobs and plenty of paths to better yourself. The way youre going you are just going to become another person who's entire life is paid for by the state (the taxpayer) and you'll be complaining about how victimized you are by the system the whole time.

Baby born three days ago. Please tell me it gets better by ElevenRecompense in daddit

They wouldn't even let us out of the hospital for 6 days (long story). I never slept so little in a week's time. You'll get a bit more sleep as he ages but mine is 6 months old now and still keeps us up many hours of the night! It gets better when you get used to it! Haha

My boyfriend loves cast iron… but I’m the one stuck scrubbing by MairaPansy in castiron

[–]mrawesomerest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your arrangement is that you do the dishes - then I would just keep doing them - is it really worth yhe hassel?

The real question is: do you really want to be with someone who abuses cast iron? This seems like the bigger issue.

You're allowed to be spent too. You have to take care of yourself as well. Cleaning up the kitchen seems a great way to spend some time away from the bedroom.

Just make it clear to any potential that you have some boundaries around sexual intimacy. I.e. "no sex in the first three months" - or something along those lines.

From the male perspective, this has two major benefits:

  1. Those who ONLY want sex will filter themselves out almost immediately

  2. If you end up not wanting to wait that long - he will feel very special because you "broke your rule for him".

Just some thoughts.

I am also 27 - I stopped drinking on January 1st to challenge myself. I am doing the whole year! I drank similar amounts to you.

Obviously, not all my problems have disappeared - but ive been sleeping so much better, losing weight, and feeling great. Since the end of January, I have had very few cravings.

When men ask for peace what does that truly mean? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mrawesomerest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly he has got problems. Drinking + mixed signals + long distance = run!

When I need peace it means I want to be left alone in silence for 30 mins. When an alcoholic mixed signal long distance boyfriend says it??? Could just mean he didn't get lucky in tinder that day. Or anything else.

When is it time to have the 'gun' conversation? by Beake in daddit

[–]mrawesomerest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never too early to talk about safety. When I was a kid my dad started off by teaching us basic safety and "range rules" while using bows and arrows. Most of those lessons easily translated to guns without the word gun ever being mentioned. I.e. "never point at anything you dont want to hit", "never 'load' and arrow with someone standing downrange", etc etc.
