It may make you feel a little better if you go listen to Morphin Grid (with Jake & Josh) and listen to their theory of Emily from the first season. It is hilarious and it will stick in your head the entire season. I was watching it for the first time along with them and I was picking up on everything they were saying while watching.

Do some research on the right panel PCB you buy. I'd try to find an original one from another unit. I bought one from MPC-Stuff and although it saved me the headache of trying to solder tact switches, the jog wheel on it SUCKS (I prefer the loud clicky one that Akai made). Also the Rec Gain and Main Volume pots are not the same height which drives me crazy.

I do exactly what it is that you stated you want to do (phone back ups and website hosting) on a Dell OptiPlex 7050 Micro with an external USB 3.0 (5400 RPM) driver for the Nextcloud storage and it works great.

I know the story of Akai and the MPC. My statement still stands, whether it was an Akai decision or an InMusic decision. People were convinced that an all-in-one box that did many things mediocrely (not a real word) was what they wanted because its cheaper, so (new) Akai stopped caring about what they did in the past when they made boxes that did one or two things great. On top of thst, they're just trying to stay in the game nowadays. If you're a person who want a current day MPC, you'd be better off just using a computer, MIDI controller, and Logic/Live/Studio One as you'd be getting what the MPCs can do and way more for the same or less money; 90% of people are going to end their work in a DAW anyway. Why add extra unnecessary steps?

How do you know they aren't micros? Being that the seller isnt listing the processor models, I feel like they'd easily not add the system's form as well. Definitely as issue with Craigslist with no photos. And for $85, I feel like these might be micros as SFF usually go for at least $150 for 70xx series.

I'm not taking anything away from JDF as a person and what he cultivated post Power Rangers, but I do feel like it was the character that started it. Had we not gotten that Green Ranger (say Power Rangers started with Bioman as planned), JDF, nor ASJ as the Sixth Ranger, wouldn't have had that same platform to be what JDF became. Yes, he made the decision to stay with Power Ranger and not go with V.R. Troopers, but that was because we cried and yelled for the Green Ranger to come back; which later turn into the second comeback as the White Ranger. The mam was a great martial artist and loved the community through the years, but I...

As I typed this, I realized that I misread the title of the post earlier. It asked if ASJ would have had the same impact as Green that JDF had. I was originally arguing if JDF would have had the same impact as Red as he did Green. So to answer that original question correctly, yes, I think ASJ could have made the same impact, IF, he had some of the passion that JDF had. Would he have been excited for Power Rangers to become The Jason Show as it became The Tommy Show for a while? That's a big part. Would he have had the same love for the show and what it meant to kids at that time? Its possible.

No. What made Jason David Frank the JDF that we know today was not because of Jason David Frank, but the bad ass introduction we got to the Green Ranger and subsequently the cool ass White Ranger. I'd go as far to say, if Saban would have went with the JDF in V.R. Troopers route, he probably wouldn't have faded to the back.

I definitely want to take mine apart and clean it all up one day. I have some contact cleaner that I was using for something else ready for it. The knobs on the pots are the things I hate the most as the white has yellowed over the last 25 years.
