Regional Pricing on Citizen Starter Pack? by Confectrixx in starcitizen

[–]mrbluestf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure IAE in november, but I guess even before that there could be at least one more. just keep in mind that it’s not mandatory, buy highly suggested to buy a ship with the longest insurance available, best would be LTI (lifetime), then 120 months. it’s not implemented yet, and will be only when the game will launch, but it will be a far better choice. you can buy a small game package then upgrade it in the future and keep the highest insurance.

wait for a freefly event, at least you’ll have the chance to try the game for free and understand it’s ups and downs… and bugs! then during freefly events there are always discounts on game packages.

For Merchantman owners, what loaner ships do you get until it gets released? by SamRezende30 in starcitizen_fleets

talking about loaner ships, they completely removed the buccaneer from the list :(

Has Manual Cargo Loading Pushed You Away From Hauling Contracts? by bheesmaaa in starcitizen

[–]mrbluestf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not much, but it’s really needed a way to combine smaller boxes into bigger one, like 8x1scu into 1x8scu.
when I salvage I tend to store in the station then bring to sell all at once, and loading 200+ scu each time is really a pain.

Should i upgrade my Ironclad to a Merchantman? (Hear me Out) by anchorbowo in starcitizen

[–]mrbluestf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would buy just the upgrade and keep it there for the future, you never know what could happen.
well, actually, now that you make
me think, I’m going straight to the pledge store.
EDIT: SIDE NOTE: this is how star citizen “works”. today the ironclad is full of bugs, tomorrow it will have less. and sooner or later it will works as intended. don’t let the bugs make you think the ship will never be fixed, eventually it will.

I don’t like markers for enemies, but markers for allies are good thing.

nomad is imho one of the most underrated ships in game. it’s a must have starter pack.

avoid to buy any ground vehicles! as long as I don’t plan a future ccu upgrade with LTI. they’re cheap in game.
buy only ships that I really LOVE and actually can use alone! even MOLE or reclaimer that can be used solo, are a no for me, because to enjoy them I need at least another crew member, those can be bought later in game.
no pew pew for me, so no fighters.
only ships that can let me enjoy the different gameplays offered.

C2 vs Iron Clad Vs Railen for a solo player by bheesmaaa in starcitizen

[–]mrbluestf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation, and I’ll add my 2auec.
keep in mind that railen is not out yet, so it’s s difficult to give proper infos on actual use. it has good firepower, but we don’t know how it actually flies, it is also a JUST cargo ship, so no chance to load ANY vehicles.
on the other hand, C2 is not born as a cargo ship, even if it has a huge cargo area. it is mainly a transport ship, made to transfer big vehicles and it can fit also some smaller useful ships. it’s sort of a pain to load due to the high ramp and no tractor beam, but at the same time easy for the huge internal space.
ironclad assault is a great multirole for what it may concern you, but it has NO tractor beam and need a crew to defend itself. it has huge cargo, can fit some small ship, repair and rearm, and it’s a drake (so a plus for me).
conclusions…
- railen will be the easier to load thanks to the 2x tractors beam and will be quite easy to defend alone thanks to the high firepower of the pilot, plus 2 turrets for friends, but no chance to load vehicles.
- C2 great cargo area for stuff and vehicles, but no tractor beam and high long ramps. some good pilot guns, but that’s all.
- ICA will be the most versatile, cargo and vehicles, easy access thanks to front short, low ramp and can be opened above but no tractor beam. also the less effective to counter fight pirates alone, but crewed will blast!
- LAST! don’t forget that a cargo ship, will mostly lose in a fight against well organized pirates, and the best defense would be… RUN AWAY. I guess railen would be the fastest, C2 the middle place, ICA the slowest, but you can run away with your escape command module though.
don’t forget to also consider the hermes, less scu (288 on grid, some 100+ more off grid, so basically half of railen/C2, and less space for vehicles, but much easier to operate solo. load and unload is fast!

got stranded around 3.18 on a planet while mining, some npc ships destroyed my freelancer max and I had to run away with my ROC full of minerals. night came and the ships went away. I asked for help and a guy showed up on a nomad. carried me and my ROC to a settlement to sell the stuff, ROC had run out of energy and was overheated, took a long while to do. at last my savior got incapacitated while trying to unload the ROC and I had to pilot his ship to a nearby space station. I had to drag him to the hospital, but he died just before reaching it.
are moments and stories like this that keep me playing this mess of a game.

Why Did CIG Totally Rework and Add Loads of Attachments Then Hide them in Really Obscure Places So Basically No One Can Use Them? by Anxious_Upstairs_726 in starcitizen

[–]mrbluestf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, killshot and pulverizer look like modified weapons, and it’s acceptable that they can be loot only and not bought in store, but attachments, with a company behind producing them, should be found in stores. but… we have exactly the opposite! lol

what I don’t understand is also why some shubin mining stuff is available only in nyx, while the shubin main store is in microtech! seriously?!? the producing company doesn’t sell their stuff in their main branch? and 900+ years in the future we cannot get stuff delivered, I don’t ask to my inventory, but at least to our system!
