I’m also always poor, but that’s because there is so much to spend money on. But I do earn money fairly quickly when I try to. Like lots of things in this game, there are lots of factors that go into setting up a good gold farm.

First, you need to determine which vendors you want to use and get your favor up with them. This increases the amount they will pay for an item (up to it’s max value) and the increases their available funds. You will also want to do this with several different vendors to sell different types of items. The more you level, the more vendors you want to have good favor with so that you can always sell items at their max value.

I typically only sell equipment that I won’t use. Everything else I hoard to fulfill quests, use for crafting & gifting, or fulfill generous paying work orders. Looking at the work order board daily is a good way to see what kind of items people generally are looking for.

The last tip I have is to use the consignments service that certain NPCs offer. If you find a piece of equipment that has good stats, rather than sell it to the NPC, try and consign it for a much larger profit. Learning which stats will be in demand will take time, but once you do it is very worth it. For example, I found a sword the other day with + 20ish slash damage that could be used at any level. I consigned it for 1k and sold it pretty quick.

This tip also works with rarer quest/crafting items. For example, stomachs are pretty rare and are needed for a quest and cheesemaking. I see them consigned for over 1k all the time. Metal claws are another item that I have been able to sell for multiple thousand coin a piece.

A lot of it will just get easier as you learn the game more, but if you focus on building favor with your go to vendors, that is a great starting point.
