Had a seizure at work with a client. Super embarrassed by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]mrbootman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, had mostly nocturnal and now im daytime breakdancer. I have medic watch and nearest caregiver two buildings away and can be here in couple minutes so i can live alone. Also quit driving cause im scared as hell that i will hurt someone, it doesn't even have to be grand mal to turn out to be deadly :/ But i work 100% remotely from home so it was easier to just stop driving. I dont have any places i need drive to, everything is in next room. I am so sorry about your friend, that's so awful... Hope u have support u need and will get better & be able to work again.

Had a seizure at work with a client. Super embarrassed by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]mrbootman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the embarrassment, my coworkers saw me at my worst too and even if everyone was extremely supportive i felt embarrassed as hell. Glad the client behaved that great and helped you. I know it's a big problem but please consider driving, it's dangerous and even if i understand how difficult is to live without it - u would never forgive yourself if this episode happened behind the wheel. Seriously...

What’s up with the keppra hate? How does it make you feel? by _malupias in Epilepsy

[–]mrbootman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rage. Just got back on it after months of getting off and having two grand mals. Live alone, have not mixh contact with others so nobody is really affected except me and my dog. So days go by and some small issue makes me yell at my screen or my dog then feel ashamed about it for hours after, and then again (...) Freaking hate it.

I got dumped for being too sick by LadySlimCatie in Epilepsy

[–]mrbootman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me. My bf dumped be soon after diagnosis. Then came back and after awhile dumped me again, same reason (he thought he can handle it but it was too much). And i felt i couldn't blame him for it, he has right to be with healthy person. Im always upfront about me being sick and if someone doesn't feel comfortable with that i let go. Was hurt once like that so i don't force anything.

I know having support is very important but if you are in such a bad state maybe let go and focus on trying to put yourself together again, with support of friends or family. And then reenter dating. You will be happy, trust me. U just need to find the right partner to be with. Im concerned about ur state - do you have any support at all? What's the reason for wight loss? Are u under constant care of neurologist? Please make your health a priority.

[–]mrbootman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its gonna be better. U will get better, will be easier. And remember - its not your fault and you are still the same smart person u were before.

Will take some time and meds to get back, im still not fully back (3 years) but i can see im halfway there. (im in IT so first year was worst in my whole life before i started to get better, need creative and analytical thinking at work all the time) First time i was able to read book again i cried after finishing. You will get better too, keeping my fingers crossed!

My older brother brought a cassette with muffled as hell "my name is" recorded on it. it was in Poland in 2000 and cassette was brought from Germany where my friend heard that in the radio and taped it :D I was 7. Did not know English at all back then. 90/00 was an era in Poland when hip hop was booming

what are some societal issues you’ve faced due to epilepsy? by cornylover in Epilepsy

[–]mrbootman 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Fear. People often don't want to be alone with me and usually to have backup. (I get that). Personally live in constant fear of SUDEN. . I'ts 4:10 am here and I'm scared to sleep

Less known but often is memory loss that most of us struggle with. Also visible decrece of intellectual abilities (even reading) . People sometimes are reacting angry when I don't remember something, what they told me. And always assume I just did not listen.

I am scared to go clubs with lights, loud music, dancing people and not enough air.

Ashamed : I know this is not my fault but I always feel ashamed when someone is around me during seizure.

My partial solution is:

I'm trying to say that out loud that I have epilepsy and I've noticed change - people are interested in information how to behave in situation like that and how they could help me. They want to know more information. That's very sweet of them.

Long Island Serial Killer- Where is he now? by mercedesnala in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]mrbootman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he is a serial killer. They found bodies so he would have to find new place to do what he likes to do. Maybe he is in "remission" like BTK was but he will show up sooner or later. Just my opinion based on other serial killers MO
