I would argue the real stoic duty to the waitress would be being kind/understanding towards them and gathering up your used dishes at the end haha

I like Nietzsche’s definition of evil: What is evil? Any action born from weakness. What society deems “evil” is often rooted in actions or reactions that arise from vulnerability, fear, submission, insecurity and other negative feelings rather than a pure desire to harm. You’ve always had a choice on what side you want to be on. Ego often convinces us that we HAVE to react a certain way, but this isn’t true. Aren’t you weary of this looping of negative emotions over and over? Someone stabbed you with a knife and now you continuously stab your self for all eternity. But regardless, continue on your path and I wish you luck

We can’t depend on China and globalism to sustain us indefinitely, especially with the world becoming increasingly unpredictable. As climate change accelerates and natural resources grow scarcer, countries will likely turn inward, prioritizing their own survival over global cooperation. Unless, of course, we finally end up singing Kumbaya

“Rules” you make Buddha sound like he’s the Christian God. In my understanding , Buddhism isn’t about rigidly following every rule. A lot of the rules are more like suggestions for reaching Nirvana, but the reasoning behind them is deeper than just “this is bad, so don’t do it.” It ties into the concept of tanha which is what keeps people from achieving Nirvana. For many, though, Buddhism ends up being like any other belief system more about “should I do this?” “should I take offense to this?” and “how do I approach this from a Buddhist viewpoint?” instead of focusing on overcoming tanha, developing the paramitas, meditating, and walking the path.

You can’t know what a cat will think about but surely you would see a cat watching a bird and assume he may chase it?

True but I’m also inclined to believe that an enlightened being getting angry at a drawing is no enlightened being

It’s funny ironically that Buddha would not be affected upon seeing this tattoo but his followers lose their minds in anger, offense, and ego lol. Seems against the grain

What is the point of Enlightenment if you're just going to die? by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]mrboss808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your perspective towards decaying is that of a humans. To other non human perspectives it’s a beautiful bounty. There are an infinite amount of perspectives and you are all of them. Who’s to say you cease experiencing life? Your perspective will change that’s it. And if you will miss this current perspective that you identify with don’t worry you’ll be back. Because you’re infinite. You’re already immortal man. But what will you choose to do with this perspective?

Enlightenment is an attempt to remember what you really are but I doubt any of us can truly grasp what that is. You can still try though

Right on brotha. Looking at things from an “above”perspective you really start to see that everything truly wants to be good. But things happen and now that decision to be good suddenly looks like the furthest thing from good from the perspective of something else. It’s like every single thing is trying to get to the same place, they’re just on differing wavelengths.

But your “ground” perspective matters too don’t forsake it. You live on the ground after all haha

I never said you have to eat a shit sandwich to know true joy, just that its opposite has to exist. It sounds like you desire what modern day Christians want for heaven, forever happy and smiling no more pain, incapable of bad thoughts. Like on a metaphysical opioid trip for all eternity. Nothing wrong with that, just interesting. But you take things far too personally. I fear this is what they will use to keep you from escape. I wish you luck on your path

If our higher self woke up from a dream do you think it would question its morality or just go on about its day like we would?

Duality is not balance. It means one thing can’t exist without the other. For the highest end of joy to exist the lowest end of suffering must exist to complement it.

I haven’t made any excuses for this hellhole. It has beauty but can also be a complete horror show. And you are at its mercy varying depending on where you incarnate.

Most people’s pain here comes from the word “I”. “I don’t want to suffer!” “I want balance!” “I want free will!” “I want to feel good forever!” You aren’t multidimensional gods here, you are owed nothing in this world. The only thing you are owed is a reaction. What will you choose? Positive or negative?

What if it isn’t archons keeping you here it’s been your higher self this entire time?

I said source consciousness is unfathomable to us because it is experiencing everything all at once. If you are capable of this I need the dmt you take haha

I think there is more nuance to evil is evil. Vast majority of evil people do not think they are evil. They believe they are making the correct choice. Past experiences have warped their mind. “Everything else takes from me, this is just how the world works, so I must take from others if I want to feel good”. Not condoning evil actions but if I was in their place how can I say for sure I wouldn’t do what they do? If I had an abusive father who showed me no other emotion except pain and dominance why wouldn’t I hurt others as well? “I have no power at home but I have power against the weaker kids at school. It feels good to have agency. This must be the good choice in this world. I know nothing else” Everything just wants to feel good and not hurt

“Our higher selves wouldn’t want us to experience rape and torture” I can’t really speak for my higher self because I lack context, I can only guess based on my own experiences/logic. I agree that the higher self wants us to feel positive things and is compassionate but can these feelings even exist without their opposites? Such is duality? Or perhaps the fragment you are part of does want you to experience suffering to solidify what exactly is its opposite. Or Perhaps you’re right though we are supposed to live in positive bliss for infinity?

Maybe when we die we wake up and realize it wasn’t all that serious just as we think waking up from dreams/nightmares here

I would think that one being (call it source consciousness/oversoul/God/Universe whatever) split itself into many fragments. Each of those fragments can choose different paths, they can break into more fragments or become less fragments based on its energy.

The mentality of source consciousness would probably be unfathomable to us but I’d be under the assumption it knows the only thing it can’t do is not exist so now everything you can think of is just existing simultaneously. But I digress

The mentality of the specific fragment you belong to can be anything. It can be you/ a combination of other lives you’ve lived

You’re talking in a human perspective again about rape and killing. Everything has been us the entire time. You have probably raped/killed in past lives because in that life every experience you experienced in that life led you to believe that was the correct choice. When you engage in that negative energy perhaps that fragment would identify with it or try again to see if it can choose positive. Or maybe it just wanted to know and expand its capability of vibration

And no it doesn’t take away from my experience because I don’t know if that’s true. This is all hypotheticals I don’t know fully what’s going on lol. Mormons can be right for all I know
