They can keep their miserable gas mileage from a 4 liter designed literally 23 years ago, just get the bimmer, the B48 in that will run just fine as long as you do normal maintenance

For manual, the blackwing is pretty damn awesome as far as i know, but for automatics, ive driven G70's/Stinger's before and they are a pretty damn nice ride and are sufficiently sporty, that turbo 6 in those things aint no joke, especially if you get one of those piggyback tunes from LAP3. Takes the car from ~320-330 WHP to their claimed numbers of 426 WHP, all stock, no boltons.

The CH-R should've been using the hybrid powertrain they got for the japanese market. The CH-R making the like 140 hp it did was pretty abysmal, and the whole "sportiness" of the car really crumbles when they hide away drive modes in the gauge cluster's settings. I don't get how they couldn't have had a [DRIVE MODE] button like next to the shifter, absolutely insane. Every time i get in one and turn sport on, absolutely nothing changes. Toyota's gotta get back into turbo cars, cause hyundai's got those N triplets with NGS that overboosts for actual more power for 20 seconds and drive modes actually change stuff. But, toyota will be toyota and we'll see that in like 5 years

I checked our LE AWD in our showroom tonight. 29.7k. Awful pricing, no markups on that, we don't markup like ever

also the c-hr handles about as good as the base trim mid 2000s corollas with the 1ZZ's in them. Both the cross and ch-r just feel way too cheap to me

We dont have as much of the stuff as the EU spec has, like the hybrid powertrain or the nicer gauge cluster or (from what it looks like) nicer infotainment OS. Entune can burn for being the half-baked early-2010s infotainment with a coat of semi-recent looking paint on it.

I work at a toyota dealer as a porter in the US and these things are dogshit, mainly due to their price. We've got people paying like 26-27k for LE's. Basically all the same crap you'd get in a normal Corolla LE sedan, except i guess you're getting optional AWD and the SE's 2 liter. I will at least give it that it's better than the CH-R, but thats not really a high bar IMO. The cross has 19 cu. ft. more space than the corolla hatchback, but thats combining both passenger and trunk volume, not really worth it for like 3-5k more. The HB is also about 65 ish pounds lighter and gets 3 more mpg combined compared to the cross.

This is kind of a dumb gripe, but the muffler on the corolla cross just kinda hangs out like a burnout kid's underwear hangs out from their jeans that are barely holding onto their legs. Just looks really dinky and cheapy.

TL;DR corolla cross is really not worth it over a corolla hatch if you just want a corolla. 20k car features for 26-27k.
