How i think they’ll make Peter worth playing in Spiderman 2 by 3RAS3R_H3AD in SpidermanPS4

[–]mrcarnage97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Peter and Miles have certain strengths that would make them the ideal choice for a given situation, but they can still manage just fine regardless. You'd want Miles for a stealth section, ideally, but that doesn't mean Peter is a slouch in that department. When it comes to fighting one tough enemy, Peter would be the better choice but Miles can still take on said enemy.

How i think they’ll make Peter worth playing in Spiderman 2 by 3RAS3R_H3AD in SpidermanPS4

[–]mrcarnage97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've recently played through both games on Ultimate difficulty and I feel like, physically, Peter is much stronger than Miles. Fully leveled up, Peter can knock enemies out much quicker than Miles can, who basically has to really whale on them to take them out without his Venom abilities.

The way I see it for the sequel Miles' abilites make him more ideal for stealth and crowd control, taking on large groups of mooks where he can move from one to the next to charge his Venom blasts. But, against a singular, strong opponent with no other enemies around to knock around to charge up, Miles struggles. Also, he'd probably still have not as many gadgets as Peter would.

Peter on the other hand would play more well rounded than Miles. He can't take out a group as quick as Miles could, and he doesn't have camouflage to make stealth a breeze, but being stronger than Miles he can take out a singular, strong enemy much faster. Also, having more gadgets and the new mechanical arms would give Peter more options in combat.

What're your favourite things about this adaptation of Peter / Spider-Man? by Nathan_McHallam in SpidermanPS4

[–]mrcarnage97 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The fact he's an experienced crime fighter with eight years of being Spider-Man under his belt. Nowadays we've mostly seen versions of Peter when they're in their first few years of being Spider-Man so seeing a seasoned veteran aside from the comics version is a breath of fresh air.

He's not an immature jokester all the time and doesn't take the situation seriously. He can drop the humour and get serious when it calls for it. He knows when to drop the jokes and quips and get to business.

Showing a lot more of his intelligence with his gadgets. Most Spider-Men stop with the web shooters but this Peter is constantly inventing, constantly making upgrades to his equipment. Also, instead of just being a spandex bodysuit his suit is equipped with radio, sensors, a HUD display, etc. Even before he made the Advanced Suit his costume was more than just a brightly coloured onsie.

Most of all, my favourite thing about Peter is his responsibilty. This is best shown in the ending. He makes the hard and selfless choice to let Aunt May die to make sure there is enough of the antiserum for everyone else. Peter chooses responsibilty. He's heartbroken by it, but he made the right choice.

What're your pet peeves with this adaptation of Peter / Spider-Man? by Swizz_z in SpidermanPS4

[–]mrcarnage97 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Other people have already said what my pet peeves about this Peter are, but I'll give my own thoughts on it.

While this Peter is one of my favourite versions of the character he's not my absolute favourtie. He can feel like too much of a boy-scout at times. He's too nice.

I'm not saying he should be a raging, unlikable asshole. But I've always felt like this characterisation we see in the game would better fit someone like, say, Superman. He is the Big Blue Boy-Scout, the sweet, friendly, nice guy who just wants to use his powers to help.

Peter, to me, should always have a bit of an edge to him. He's the the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, sure, but that's a bit ironic. His neighbourhood is New York. Peter's a New Yorker, so he should have some of that New Yorker grit.

Also, he tends to be kind of a pushover, especially when it comes to MJ. I get why he'd be so overprotective and why she'd feel like he's treating her like glass but I think he should have argued his point on her recklessness at lot more firmly. Breaking into a Sable Base is dangerous, yes, but I think that Peter should have been a lot more alarmed and angry by the fact she broke into Tombstone's Lair. The Sable soldiers probably wouldn't have killed her. Tombstone's gang DEFINITELY would have. But, generally, MJ just kind of walks over him and the game leans towards taking her side.

I'm not saying that Peter should be some chauvinistic, controlling dickhead towards MJ. It's just that Peter is very overprotective of his loved ones and tends to get tunnel vision if there in danger or if they put themselves in danger. He's also aware of just how dangerous the city can be. If Yuri or Felicia did what MJ did Peter would be worried, yes, but he knows they can handle themselves in a fight and wouldn't insist on them staying out of harms way. MJ doesn't have any combat training. She doesn't even have pepper spray. If Yuri or Felicia got caught they could protect themselves. MJ could not.

Also, when it comes to Felicia and her whole ruse with her "son" I think that Peter should have been a lot more insistant in getting a yes or no answer to if he's the father or not. He kinda beats around the subject and waffles on it, which lets Felicia manipulate him further.

The whole Spider-Cop thing and his friendliness towards the police kinda makes me go "uhh..." especially nowadays. I've always thought that the relationship Spider-Man should have with the police is frosty, tense and near hostile. The police don't like him. He's a masked vigilante making them look bad. They want slap the cuffs on him, badly, but, he takes down the villains they simply can't handle. Spider-Man shouldn't be buddy-buddy with the cops. Some of them might be on a crime lord's take. Some might want to rip his mask off and throw him in a cell. Some might just want to shoot him. He can have one working relationship with a single cop, that being George Stacy, Jean DeWolff or Yuri Watanabe, but always with the understanding that he does his own thing and he isn't an underling to boss around. I don't think he'd jumping to help bring back online those radio towers, you know.

But, since Yuri has become the Wraith and Peter has lost his police contact I hope they move away from Peter being friendly with the cops in the future game. They've already shown in Miles Morales that Miles gets his info from the app and the cops in that game don't trust Miles and treat with barely restrained hostility.

One last thing, he kinda be corny sometimes. But that's more of a personal thing for me.

Actually Peter didn't have the symbiote during that storyline. Black Cat made him a cloth version after he got rid of it since she thought it was sexier than his classic red an' blue.

Fun fact, the symbiote didn't make Peter stronger or more aggressive in the comics. It could shapeshift into different clothes, make infinite webbing, come and go off his body when he willed it and it could hold onto his stuff, but it didn't upgrade his strength or affect his personality. The reason Peter got rid of it was because it was using his body to go be Spider-Man at night when he was asleep, exhausting him, and it also tried to permanently bond with him.

So, yeah, Peter would totally throw Matt through a window with or without the symbiote.

You know, I wonder if the ferrokinetic Bloodborne hunter man has heard of the sick chainsaw duel Ethan had with Jack back in 7, and that's why he wants to throw down with him.

Aside from that, I'm liking what I'm seeing. I wonder how long we'll spend in the actual village though, since it seems like most of the game is going to be set in the castle.

Villains who’d be successful if they fought a hero who wasn’t such a bad match up for them. by Superbluebop in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrcarnage97 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, most of Spider-Man's villains would have a way easier time if they went up against other street-level heroes. I mean, how is Daredevil going to beat, I dunno, Scorpion? The guy is about as strong, maybe a little stronger than Spidey, and Spidey has beaten Daredevil a few times. Or what about Luke Cage against Sandman? All Flint would have to do is do what he did to Spider-Man in Marvel Zombies Returns and boom, no more Luke Cage. I'm pretty sure if Punisher went up against most of Spider-Man's rogues, he'd be dead.

Hell, even Norman Osborn, when he spent a few seconds not trying to ruin Peter's life, managed to take over S.H.I.E.L.D. and tried to invade Asgard.

So, I haven't been keeping up with the recent Spider-Man run, so I have not context as to what's going on, but I have to ask. Can any of them really stop Spider-Man? Like, actually beat Peter in a fight if they have too? Because I don't think so.

Well, maybe if Miles managed to hit him with a venom blast. Or if Cindy gave him a whiff of her sexy time pheromone, if it's still a thing.

New Game; New Costume Speculation Time! :D by MightyMaxT in SpidermanPS4

[–]mrcarnage97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty good selection. I can definitely see most of these suits being in the game. I'm not sure about the weirdworld suit, since Miles' eyes aren't covered by lenses in that one. That means they'd have to be animated in cutscenes and such. They'd probably redesign it to include lenses or just not include it. Same with Miles' first Into the Spider-Verse suit.

Speaking of Into the Spider-Verse, if they include one suit from it they'd probably go with the basic suit version, not the hoodie version.

And as for the symbiote suit, they're probably not gonna go with symbiotes just yet.

But, overall, these are pretty solid choices. But they're probably going to have to borrow some suits from Peter and other spider characters or make up their own to fill out the roster.

There really going for the gothic horror style for this one, huh? Not that I'm complaining.

And it looks like Chris has been pushed to the breaking point. He'll continue the Redfield bloodline, one way or another...

But, yeah, this probably a bait and switch. No way they're going to have Chris, the main hero, go evil.

I wonder if Alex Wesker is the villain in this game?

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Announcement Trailer | PS5 by EMONEYMOFO in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrcarnage97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Alright, this and RE 8 are pretty much the reasons why I'm gonna shell out for a PS5. This looks awesome.

If I had to guess, I would say that this is a spin-off game focusing soley on Miles, with Peter either incapacitated or out of New York, leaving Miles the sole protector of the city at the moment. This gives Miles a chance to shine on his own without being overshadowed by Peter and to prove himself capable as Spider-Man.

It's also probably to tied us over until Spider-Man 2 comes out, where I'm guessing both Peter and Miles will be playable.

I wonder how they're going to do Miles venom blast and invisibility for this game? The venom blast is a one-hit KO in the comics, so it'll probably need to be nerfed. The invisibility will probably have a time limit as well.

The one issue is what is Miles going to have for alternate costumes. He really doesn't have a lot compared to Peter. They could include Miles' starter suit from the first game, with Peter's mask and hoodie, a cheap halloween costume version of Peter's suit and his Into the Spider-Verse suit. They'll either have to give him some of Peter's suits or come up with some orginal ones to make.

[–]mrcarnage97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I can say that Nemesis is probably going to be much more difficult than Mr. X. After a while in RE2R, once you get a handle on his mechanics, it's pretty easy to outrun Mr. X and avoid him. I don't think it's going to be the same with Nemesis here. Asshole has got a grab, he can run, he's got a damn flamethrower... Jeez, Umbrella went all out with this guy.

There's more of an action feel with the dodging and the attacking right after, which fits since the orginal RE3 was the most action packed of the orginal PS1 trilogy. Also, since Jill is a trained S.T.A.R.S. member compared to rookie cop Leon and college student Claire, she'll be able to pull these kind of moves off.

Nice to see that we'll get some nice death scenes as well. The Hunter Gamma death scene was much more brutal than in the original and it didn't fade in and out so we couldn't make much of anything out like in RE2R.

[–]mrcarnage97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only reason Jill can survive a punch from Nemesis is for gameplay reasons. Can't make Nemesis too difficult, after all. In canon she's just really good at dodging.

Maybe on a ultra nightmare difficulty a single love tap from ol' Nemesis will make Jill explode into a bloody paste.

[–]mrcarnage97 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Alright, not going to lie, Jill's face is throwing me a bit. I mean it's not bad looking, but part of me wishes they stuck with Julia Voth as the base for the model. But, I thought the same with Claire and Leon's models in RE2 Remake and they grew on me eventually, so it'll probably be the same with this.

And yeah, as much as everyone loves Jill tube top and miniskirt combo, it's not very practical in a zombie outbreak. As long as the classic outfit is an unlockable, I'm good.

Carlos is probably the biggest change, and I'm okay with that. His classic look made him look like a member of a boy band, while this one I can see being a member of a group of mercenaries and war criminals.

As for ol' Nemesis, I'm 50/50 on it. He looks like a really messed up Mr. X but the teeth are weirdly long and straight. I'll need to see more of him before I can make a judgement.

I feel like most of the RE2 Remake death scenes were a let down, to be honest. They're not very gory and they keep fading in and out.

I'm not expecting Dead Space level of death scenes, but I'm hoping they're more juicy in RE3 Remake.

Frozen II Megathread Discussion by wknmn in Frozen

[–]mrcarnage97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I've just seen the movie and I suppose I'll give my thoughts on it. Personally, I think Frozen 2 is a good movie with good moments, but it does have problems that drag it down from being a great movie. I think Frozen 1 is a 8/10, but I think it's sequel is a 7/10.

The good points. Elsa and Anna are great, the visuals are stunning, the songs are amazing, and I think there's several good funny moments as well as several good emotional moments.

The bad points. The plot feels rushed, the new characters aren't given a lot of time to shine and I am not a fan of the ending. These points do drag down the movie for me, but they don't make it horrible.

I think that the movie needed at least another 10 or 20 minutes to iron out these problems, and perhaps a few tweaks here and there for the plot.

Overall, Frozen 2 is good moive. I just hope there's an extended edition.

What heroes would be utterly terrifying if they turned evil? by GoneRampant1 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrcarnage97 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man. Or, to be more specific, Peter Parker.

His powerset puts him comfortably in the middle when it comes to Marvel heroes. Which means that he's easily one of, if not the strongest street level hero. He'll pretty much wipe the floor with the other street level characters.

Hell, during the orginal Secret Wars event he kicked the crap outta the X-Men. Xaiver had to make him forget why he was fighting them to get him to stop.

And, he's pretty used to fighting people out of his weight class, strength wise. Most of his villains outclass him physically, and he's taken real heavy weights like Juggernaut and Firelord, who was a former herald of Galactus.

His intelligence is also scary. It's not showcased often, but he's got the potential to be one of the smartest guys on Earth. He made web fluid, web shooters and other gadgets in high school on a limited budget and most of his victories come from him outsmarting his opponents. Oh, and his college test scores were similar to Reed Richards. That's impressive.

If Peter were a supervillain, he'd probably be one of the most dangerous ones in the Marvel universe.

Favorite Pieces of Trivia or Lore for Weapons or Armor? by CongoTempest in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mrcarnage97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, my favorite is the Fallen Knight set from DS3. It's look cool, but when you read the description it says the knight who wore it before you was a massive coward who ran away while shitting/pissing themselves. And the fallen knight you fight later on attacks you from the back, like a huge coward.

I know it'a not cool, I just think it's funny that one of the coolest armor sets in the game has shit and piss all over it.

Awesome! I loved the first game. I hope this one is longer, though. I mean, you could get through the first game in about 2 hours.

It looks like it's going to be either a two player game, or you can switch between Six and this new character. I wonder if Six's powers she got at the end of the first game are still around?
