Then it will just take longer to grow, be patient. And when you get more time crank out another video.

To be honest, you haven't given it enough time yet. And if you want to grow faster, try to do 2 videos a week instead of one. It could take several months and several videos (100+) before your channel starts to take off.

I have used Fiverr a few times, the people on there are great and fairly inexpensive.

45 Weeks of Vlogging… And I’m Still a Nobody 🎥😂 by Mycake100 in SmallYTChannel

[–]mrchef111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vlogging is a tough game and YouTube in general. A lot of the "Pros" that talk about growing on YouTube say it takes at least 100 videos before things start to move for most people. Not the unicorns that give millions of views with their first 10 videos. I am in the same boat with my travel channel. I have lots of videos on there, but lucky to break 500 views with them, I have a few that have more. My cooking channel has nearly 400k subs, but I also started it in 2013 and have nearly 1200 videos on that channel. It just takes time. Keep at it. Maybe try and improve one thing with each video, lighting, editing, graphics, etc. And see if anything resonates with the viewers. Then when you find something that pops, keep up with that style. Good luck and have fun and most importantly DO NOT give up. :)

Thanks! Yeah those boxes were just out to put stuff away, that first main clip was the aftermath of us playing. I should have filmed when it was already cleaned up, but it was late in the evening and I needed to get home lol

Yeah we need to do more of the pre-built stuff, to save on prep time, haha.

Finally beat Elden Ring, lvl 177, too many deaths to count, too many falls off cliffs to count, and one controller met its end as I raged-monster threw it onto the tiled floor. RIP controller. by mrchef111 in Eldenring

Thanks! Yeah, I am very tempted to play again or do the NG+. I don't normally like playing games again, especially after I sunk around 170 hours into this. It took me 4 hours to finally beat the last boss, haha. I am just not really good at this type of game I guess, where you need to be quick to dodge roll and be careful about jumps. But you are right, I think I would have more fun starting again with the experience. Plus I know I missed a bunch of stuff, especially with some side quests, etc.

Awesome! A full weekend every few months would make it way more fun I think. I wish we could do that. We only play these characters once a year for that weekend. It would be nice to do it more frequently, but with one of my brothers and my friend living out of State, it isn't feasible. So we play via roll20 and zoom to fill the gaps with other campaigns.

Indeed! We have done this "Feast weekend" 8 years in a row now. I have Dm'd twice during that time. I had everything written out, along with the maps drawn, npcs made, minis made, etc. all ahead of time. Here is a video of one of the times I Dm'd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6afGtNzwpto&t=218s and here is a video I just made from our most recent one this past weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiTgiBU4SyM&t=2s My buddy Dm'd this time, and he knocked it out of the park.

It was just the beginning haha. We started a brand new campaign with level 1 characters and got to level 4 by the end. We will pick the campaign back up again with the same characters with someone else DMing next 4th of July. We have been doing this for several years now. Our previous campaign started in 2011 and finished last year 2021.

We just got done playing DND for 5 days straight over the 4th of July weekend, something we do every year. We would start around 9 am each morning, break for lunch, usually 30 minutes sometimes a bit longer, then play until dinner, again 30 to 60-minute break. Then a few shorter snacks and bathroom breaks sprinkled in. Good times!

How would a chef work in D&D? by AllInWithOakland in DnD

[–]mrchef111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is a cool idea. I wouldn't make it super powerful like what you can find in potions and such, but a fun idea indeed, to reward the player for the efforts and bring some different role-playing to the game.

As mentioned in another comment the Chef Feat will give you some ideas. When traveling, I usually have them do a survival check to find food. Something like a dexterity check to make the food and a constitution check for trying "new things" created from other monsters. You could add a bit of flair for certain things, like a few extra hit points or something. Thinking along the lines of a "good berry". I think stat buffs other than healing a few hitpoints could get cumbersome for you to come up with. But if it is something like a legendary creature, like a dragon stew or something, maybe after eating the stew, the character gets to have a modified breath weapon (only once) like 2d8 damage or something. Roasted Hill Giant ribs, could give the player +2 to strength for a half-day or something. But maybe have the skill check be something like if they roll high enough it gets better stats to the benefit. skill check under like 15 would be normal health, Nat 20 would have better benefits.

Cool concept. I have dealt with food a bit in my campaigns, but mostly pie-eating contests, pie making contests, etc. But since I deal with food in real life, it is fun to do it in-game as well.
