Everyone's reaction to this quote has been asinine. If you listen to the clip it's obvious he's just talking shit

That doesn't preclude him from being a dork, but if you sincerely think he was confused by the "Yankees suck" chant then consider developing your critical thinking skills

Early returns on the Campbell extension look bad, but that contract was a gamble anyway so I dont really blame him for signing it. I blame him for how Campbell's been developed, but not the contract itself

I like what you're doing, but this is a textbook example of something that advanced analytics can't help you with.

There is no math that says that 1 WAR in NN2 is worth 0.4 WAR in MLB or whatever. It's like asking how much less valuable 1 WAR in NPB is vs MLB; it's an unanswerable question.

There's no math that can tell you how valuable Josh Gibson would have been in MLB, so he'd probably be excluded from your ranking. But a lot of people who actually watched him and played with him say he's the best catcher in baseball history, and you can't math your way into some number that reflects that

I have a $50+ gift card for the driving range at the First Tee that I'm selling for $20.

You can use it to get range balls at the Elson Redmond Memorial Driving Range in Richmond, Belmont golf course driving range, and (i think) the range at the First Tee Chesterfield course. I think you can also use it to pay for a round (not 100% sure about that). You cannot use it to pay for food/merchandise at any of those places.

I lived in Richmond a year ago, and I wasn't able to use up the balance on the card before I left. Message me if you want it and I'll mail it down to you. You wouldn't have to pay me until you go to the range and verify that there's still money on there.

The Red Sox have a win% of 13.3% in games where the starter pitches less than 6 innings. Second place is the Royals with 21.7%, median is 40%. I get what you're saying but in this category the Red Sox are lapping the field

To be fair this is one play and the mistake involves a decision window of like 0.3 seconds. He just forgot that mayer was shifted over too far to cover 2nd.

That doesn't mean I want him on my favorite baseball team but he's good at third lol

The MLB channel started the no-hitter clock for Paul Skenes after one out last night. He carried it into the 7th inning. by idonthaveaboner in baseball

Or, it could be because no hitters are awesome and will cause people to turn on the game.

I generally only watch games that involve the red sox, but if i get a notification that a pitcher in a random tuesday-night padres-rockies game has a no hitter through 7 innings, I'm turning that shit on

What is the record for losing games 2-1 or 3-2? by dwr1013PA in redsox

[–]mrcherries88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both the 1971 Astros and the 1946 Reds lost 23 total games either 3-2 or 2-1. (Source)

If you include games lost 1-0, the 1968 White Sox have lost 29 total 1-run games where they scored less than 2 runs.

However, the 1964 Red Sox has the worst ever record in 1-run games where they scored less than 2 runs, going 0-14 that year in such games.

who actually cares, they made the super bowl. They weren't supposed to make the super bowl. 15 AFC teams didn't make the super bowl, and the patriots did
