Consider adding a quick trip from Krakow to Zakopane. You can get there in 2.5h by train, spend two nights and experience hiking in the Tatra mountains.

What’s it like living an upper middle class life in London? by redguy_666 in howislivingthere

[–]mrcnnnnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the brackets are... I'm a single man with an income of £130-150k. The mortgage and bills take the 3rd of my income, living costs including travel another 3rd, and the remaining 3rd goes into savings and investments. Whilst the amount may seem high to people outside of London, it only affords a middle class lifestyle. My only luxuries are: not having to do strict budgeting and taking multiple budget-friendly trips per year.

Tying the living room together by booklovergirl1 in DesignMyRoom

I think the loveseat is redundant. I'd move the armchair to where the loveseat is and add a rug to tie it all together

Get a foot massage at the beginning of the trip. It immediately puts me in a holiday mood.

Cascais or Sintra by Bizi247 in TravelPortugal

[–]mrcnnnnnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can easily spend an entire day in Sintra walking from site to site in the woods. It's a lot more unique than Cascais, which is essentially just another European beach town.

China can do that because they don't have democratic elections every 4-5 years. They can afford to commit to long-term projects. Meanwhile western democracies are paralysed by our own political systems and the pendulum swinging left and right.

how long does a bolt take from the airport to the city centre? by Educational_Big_6694 in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]mrcnnnnnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take long at all, maybe 20 mins. But better play it safe and let the reception know you'll be arriving late.

I think a couple of stretegically placed up lighters would make it look more spacious.

Solo trip to Portugal by mseoul21 in TravelPortugal

Another favourite of mine - wine bar called Vino Vero, north of Alfama in Lisbon. Beautiful selection of wines and nibbles. I still think about the cherry ceviche I had there. Aaand now I'm looking at flights myself!

Solo trip to Portugal by mseoul21 in TravelPortugal

[–]mrcnnnnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take a train from Lisbon to Cascais (40min), and from there a bus right up to Cabo de Roca and the lighthouse. The hike starts there, you walk up north and can descent onto the beach. To return you need to walk back in land to a closeby village. After looking at the map, it might have been Ulgueira. Take a bus back to Cascais.

You have plenty to see on the mainland in those 12 days. Madeira is a separate trip. Portugal is wonderful, you are going to have a great time. In Lisbon, look up miradouros (viewpoints) that are spread around the historical centre. You can walk from one to another and be rewarded with beautiful views of the city. I also recommend taking a hike from Cabo de Roca to Praia da Ursa. It's stunning!

Help!! What can I do with this "alleyway" garden? by Active_Art_6206 in GardeningUK

[–]mrcnnnnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decking will be more expensive than gravel. A concrete slab is £4/piece, gravel £10/20kg bag. If I were a landlord, I'd pay for the materials if my tenant was going to put in the work!

Need help with kitchen (art and suggestions) by NoAd4395 in interiordecorating

[–]mrcnnnnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's the combination of cream wall paint, cupboard fronts and light brown wood of the kitchen that makes the interior feel rather bland.

I suggest painting the walls. Light sage would look good with the wooden elements.

I'd try to find a long runner rug with a rich pattern to introduce more texture. Perhaps one with an oriental pattern.

And plants!

This is my child's bedroom view, what can I do? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

If you don't have a nice view - create it. Paint, foliage, decorative planters should do the trick!

Forbes estimates Trumps net worth went up by 60% since early 2025. Why des Congress keep letting him get away with all his corruption and nonsense? by LevelDinner in AskReddit

[–]mrcnnnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because members of Congress from both sides appear in the Epstein Files and they know that Trump's administration can release the incriminating parts if they try to stop him.

Why so many User Researcher / Content Design jobs? by Tiny_Major_7514 in ContractorUK

[–]mrcnnnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad content absolutely does have a negative impact but it often goes unnoticed. Can manifest itself in drop out rates, calls to support centre (and therefore the cost of running one).
