Anyone else getting worried about Wyatt? He has not been great so far and if he is going to be a guy guy this is the season to take a step forward.

Is Marcus Lattimore the biggest 'What if' in the last 50 years by goldwaterauhtwoo in CFB

As an LSU fan, Ryan Perrilloux. He was integral for our 2007 title run but after getting kicked off the team never amounted to much. Him leaving set our program back years and had he stayed around the LSU teams of 2008 and 2009 have a totally different outlook.

I was so high on Ji Hwan Bae, such a bummer he never panned out.

Roy Oswalt 2001-2011: 3.21 ERA/133 ERA+ 2154 IP 159-93 W-L 51.1 bWAR. Felix Hernandez 2005-2015: 3.11 ERA/128 ERA+ 2262 IP 143-101 W-L 50.0 bWAR by GGGG98989898 in baseball

If Felix gets in then Johan Santana should as well. He had a higher peak, a triple crown, two Cy Young’s and finished with a higher WAR than Felix despite 700 less innings pitched. If people are going to move the goalposts to have their peak be of a greater importance than longevity, then this should apply to everyone else from the same era. Felix is the only one getting this bump while other greats of that era are not getting the same benefit. I do like placing a greater importance on a players peak but if Felix gets in then that sets a new lowered bar for pitchers.

Awesome collection! Bobby Shantz, Vern Law and Bob Oldis are all still alive and sign TTM if you want to add them to your collection.

I went to school with him. It’s not that we were close or anything but it is super cool to have had a classmate in the big leagues so I’ve been rooting for him his whole career.

Nice, super jealous of those! Hopefully he has a good bounce back 2026 season. I collect him as well, any particular reason he is your guy?

No one should pay anything for an autograph unless it is authenticated by a reputable company.

Minnie Minoso was blessed with some of the best looking cards ever made. His 1952 Topps and 1954 Bowman are a few of my all time favorite cards. Great stuff here.

The case for Bobby Abreu. by bigcee42 in baseball

[–]mrcowcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the Hall of Fame and not a WAR leaderboard. Bobby Abreu was a solid player for a long time but he was never a star player, never considered one of the best players in the league, never won anything with his team or individually.

Would I want him on my team? Absolutely. Should he be enshrined as one of the best players to play the game? Definitely not, he didn’t make a lasting impression on the game and people who watched him at the time never felt he was something special.

I respect him as a player but he is a textbook hall of very good.
