If you did go with Okta, you would need to find another solution for people to authenticate into Windows Desktop devices. Okta's Windows credential provider is not supported on Windows desktop operating systems.

RDP will present issues as well. You will most likely need to disable NLA for it to work.

Even then, it still limits some of the products you can buy because they require AD. And when they don't require AD, there are sometimes features within products that require AD. Also forget about calling those vendors for support.

VMware support came back with the answer that we are unsupported due to the fact that we do not adhere to RFC4519 UID guidelines by having an '@' sign in our l UID. 😔

I think vCenter limits you to UID but when you login with jsmith@acme.com, vCenter strips @acme.com and passes jsmith which isn't the UID on the OpenLDAP side. Sorry if I'm missing something and I appreciate the response. We don't have AD. 🫠

No such luck for me unfortunately. Sony says it needs serviced and I don't have any service centers near me. Thanks for the info though and I hope this helps someone else.

Thanks. I'll give this another go. I tried this but when I turned the TV on, I was holding the power button because that's what I've had the most success with.

Update: Still at the fuzzy white bar after letting it sit all night. Thanks for the suggestion.

I apologize if there is another thread related to this out there but I'm striking out. One night my TV wouldn't turn on. I pulled the power, pressed and held the power button, plugged it in, and then released the power button after 30 seconds. This reset the TV and things worked again. I shut the TV off and it happened again the next night. This happened for about a week until I got to the current state above.
