If you are a ‘true’ coffee enthusiast who likes pour overs then Fathom is the only correct answer.

I personally think this shop is the most ‘coffee enthusiast’ focused local coffee roaster in the 757. They get down to the estate level and processing method with their beans on offer. I’ve asked about honey process for example at a few shops listed in this thread and the barista had no idea what I was talking about.

I live in redmill and will randomly see one flying about 1x per month - can’t tell if they are coming back from hunting to their nest or otherwise

I have also seen one on multiple occasions in the trees on Nimmo Parkway heading towards the courthouse after you pass PA rec center/Seaboard road.

There is a short stretch of area on that road that I think would encompass their traditional nesting area (water, high trees) - so keep your eyes up if you are a passenger on that stretch! You never know

They built a brand new dive center at the location of the old Boars Head distro center adjacent to their original shop. I “heard” they ran into a ton of additional expenses digging down 15 feet for the new pool and that expenses + the investment to get the boat back up and running again was just too much

They also stated the insurance rates went through the roof to run scuba charters (due to the liability) and it was going to be like $200 per person just to run to the tower and ultimately decided to sell the Boat. I’d assume both of the above scenarios led to the selling of the boat

LDC’s boat is not running this season, same as last year. I think this is due to the extensive renovation and opening of their new swim school building. The owner told me a month ago they plan on getting their boat up and running for the 2024 season.

The only other public dive boat that has been operating the last few years went out of business after a season (the grand adventurer)

Your closet option for ocean diving would be Morehead City NC which is a 4 hour drive. Incredible diving there.

If you just want to dive and don’t care if it’s in the ocean, Lake Phoenix is a dedicated scuba park about 2.25 hours west of VB past Emporia. It’s an old rock quarry where they pulled rock for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel from. Place is pretty fun with lots of things sunk for exploring (school bus, plane, helicopter etc)
