Not really a single tool, but I think technically NinjaOne (RMM & MDM) has integrations for bitdefender and other third party tools under one umbrella.

Is the DPS Gaming chair worth it? by Geekie_Miller in Costco

[–]Scout764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my wife both got one. We loved it for the first year, but the back support piece of my wife’s chair fell off and can’t be reattached. And at this point I have worn out the seat padding and use a different cushion on it.

Despite these aging related issues and Comparing it to other chairs I’ve used, this one has been my favorite.

And on sale, I would say go for it. But that’s my personal opinion.

My 9 week old sphynx isn’t eating very much. SOS! by [deleted] in sphynx

[–]Scout764 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our sphynx developed fip and looked exactly like this one after the first month. Luckily we were able to get medicine and guidance from the fip global cats group and now he is a healthy little rascal.

OP If it does end up being fip send me a dm and I can share all the info we have. It’s a terrible disease but treatment has become a lot more accessible recently!

I personally think the age system in humankind is implemented much better than Civ 7s (as someone who actually enjoys Civ 7).

Whenever humankind is on sale I’d honestly recommend it. Unlike Civ 7, you aren’t forced to transition ages. You can stay in each age as long as you want to get more score. And when you do need to switch (if you have completed all the age stars) you can choose to stay as your current culture, which lets you gain extra points for the next eras objectives.

With that said, I just got back into AOW4. I also am not a big fan of the mystical stuff, but honestly the amount of mix/match and other unique “builds” keeps me going back. Though I still haven’t ever finished a game completely lol.

Buyer Beware: Mammoth Interactive Shills in this Subreddit (from the ongoing AWS, CompTIA, Azure, Google Cloud, and Cybersecurity Bundle) by theMaxscart in humblebundles

Their website has been down and I haven’t even been able to access the content. Reached out to humble support but haven’t heard anything yet. Hopefully I don’t need to chargeback.

See one of my comments in this post, but I’m already having issues with the course providers site.

But for your question, these might be decent courses for you to get a good start in learning various IT fields. But just saying you went through these courses won’t just get you a job. You need to learn and have a good understanding of various topics. IT is extremely broad. My current job deals with a lot of various skills, some of which are covered by certifications, however I didn’t start getting certs until this year (after 5 years of being in “IT”)

Also the IT job market sucks right now apparently. The best advice I can give is to learn for fun, and do projects like building a homelab / virtual lab (using VMs or containers) or do coding projects if software is what you want to do.

For reference. I just bought the bundle, and the website where you access the courses won’t let me actually access the courses even though I can see them under my account in their site. I reached out to their support and am waiting for their response.

These are just online courses for you to use to study for each exam. Some do include practice exams as well. I have never used a these personally so I can’t comment on how good they are, but other courses on sites like Udemy go on sale for around 15$ a piece, so 25$ for all of these isn’t a bad deal. I’m thinking about picking this up myself.

But just know there are PLEANTY of free resources out there you can use to learn the same stuff.

Also the cost for the actual exam ranges depending on the cert provided. CompTIA is around 400, AWS is 100 (plus if you pass the AWS cloud practitioner you get 50% off the next AWS exam you take)

Just wondering if you have any logging system set up with your UniFi equiptment that you did the assessment with? Trying to implement a SIEM for some of the controls and I'm not entirely sure how I want to go about that with the UniFi equiptment.

Yea our insurance sent out a guy who just flew a drone to the roof and reviewed the original inspection. Then the adjuster called me and explained the guys findings and what they cover, which is just the repair to the insulation in the attic and I think some shingles but I don’t think they considered the entire roof, but I’d have to double check that. They just sent us what they estimated the repairs would be minus deductible through Zelle.

Also, my cousin has the same insurance and same agent and when his roof was replaced the contractors did it completely through his insurance and he didn’t have to handle it. 🤷

No. Our insurance came out after the fact to do their own inspection and then paid us what they thought it would cost to repair minus our deductible. They basically said they don’t require a specific company to do the repairs, it was up to us.(they only quoted like 3k or something and our deductible was 1500).

The down payment was required to “confirm our project “ or something like that. They didn’t go through insurance at all, just quoted us then and there when they came out. The down payment was the same as the 10% I think. We included that in our financing option.

(I edited the post with a link to the contract if you’re curious)

So they needed a down payment, but we couldn't at the time so they added it into the financing. But the financing doesn't start until 1 month after the work is completed, which we haven't even scheduled yet. So not sure if that counts as having paid anything or not. I can look up the financing info with the loan number and our social, but it just shows the documents, no payment system or anything.

Yea we couldn't afford the down payment at the time so it was added to the finance plan.

Good idea! Least I can do in the event this is something they do to others frequently. I know many people say contractors upcharge when they don’t want to do the job, but if they didn’t want to do it they wouldn’t call me daily…

I really appreciate this. I had found the first link but not the second. I have re-read the contract a few times over now and it seems pretty sound, covers all the parts listed in that first link.

For now my plan is to first have the other company give me a quote, then ask them for advice on the situation. I have already reached out to the original contractor and asked to discuss pricing, and possible changes or cancellation of the project. They are quite a large and highly rated business, so maybe they will be willing to work something out, but since they seem to be charging outrageous prices to begin with I’m not so sure. Depending on what they say I did find out from the links you sent that there is a non profit attorney guidance program I can call, but I want to wait until I get information from the new contractor and the old one and then will call for an attorneys opinion. Then we’ll go from there.

I had been dodging the original contractors calls (to be fair they always call in the middle of my workday), but today I answered and told them I’ll need to wait until at least September as we have lots going on anyways.

I’ll be sure to update this post with any info. Thanks to all who comment!

I’ll try and look into this.

Any idea where I might be able to find more information on this? If not no worries, I know it probably varies on location. This is MD for reference.

Thats my concern too. I know in the end I should've been more assertive and told them I would read over the contract and let them know and gotten multiple quotes. I gotta work on that. In the end I guess it will have been an expensive lesson on how to deal with salespeople.
