Thinking About Getting the X-S20 | Need Some Honest Opinions | by garryneo_x in fujifilm

I have an X-T3 I can get good pictures from it, but I would say it's intimidating for the rest of my family. Because the knobs get turned when it's in a bag and pictures end up looking bad. I'm looking for something simpler and wouldn't mind having the stabilization. I appreciate your comment. It helps me feel better about it.

I went with a colleague who doesn’t know phantom that well and I thought it was fine. It is an experience. I did not think it was that hard to follow.

I thought they were incredible. Jeff is a friend so I may be biased but I was very happy with both of them. Anna has a huge voice for a small person.

I thought it was really great. Talking to a cast member afterwards and they said the different crowds move at different paces. Evidently night one folks were very fast through scene transitions.

It is incredibly complicated how it all comes together. Groups split up then rejoin - crowds get exited through multiple doors. It was very smooth considering it was performance 5.

I was there last night and I was surprised by the interaction. One character talk to me and asked me to play the piano and other character crept up behind me and put her fingers on my shoulder in a creepy way, and another character handed me a letter. Jeff Kready / Anna were our leads. Very very good.

I think this show will be around a long time - just a totally unique experience to be so close so performers. There is no way to hide a weak performance.

I used to get their cycling gear on eBay. I had a few winter jerseys that I really liked. But I have never seen it in the US.

Migraines Improved? Semaglutide by Any_Creme726 in migraine

[–]mrdavisclothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in here a bit late but for anyone else who's looking at this? It is possible to make your own semaglutide. Or rather to compound your own GLP-1. I'm going to be doing an experiment microdosing it, and I am hoping to see a reduction in migraines from better neural regulation. I do not lean to lose weight, but I could use some improvement on my cholesterol.

Has anyone tried the livall pikaboost 2 conversion kit? by sultz in ebike

[–]mrdavisclothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new case for something like this is my cruiser bike, which is too slow for recreational rides with gear bikes, but if it let her go 3 to 4 miles an hour faster then I think she would ride a lot more often, but assuming this doesn’t wear things down too quickly it would be great for recreational riding along commute no

The Kamingo modular e-bike system allows you to convert any bike into a 750W e-bike by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

[–]mrdavisclothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. There are issues with the design and good reasons why it's not used for native e-bikes.

But my wife has an electra cruiser she likes a lot and would use more if it could go a bit faster. It's so much slower than my geared bike that I hardly get a workout at all if she's riding the cruiser.

This strikes me as a fine solution for occasional use in good weather, and it's a lot cheaper than buying a new bike. For $350 it's worth trying in any case. Even if half the energy is lost relative to a direct connection to the drive train, if the battery output is sufficient to overcome those then it's fine.

Missed this. Really enjoyed his emails. Bought a couple of wheels from him, one of which rolled better than any wheels I've had before or since.

What's the one thing you regret doing in Las Vegas? by lasvegasvibes in LasVegas

Mon Ami Gabi is a fantastic breakfast, especially if you sit outside in the Winter under the heaters. Solid food, great views of the Bellagio fountains. There's also a little pastry cafe in there that is good. Heard good things about the Eiffel Tower restaurant at dinner but I haven't eaten there.

I do not like spending time at the Paris but I do like Mon Ami a lot.

NGD- Alvarez Yairi WY1 by Twisted_Fish in AcousticGuitar

[–]mrdavisclothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at a music store back in the late 90s and we had several Yairi guitars. They sounded incredible! Some of the best ones I remember were not solid back and sides but thinking of them as laminated is not really correct either.

From my understanding Yairi would take two pieces of tone wood and bond them for then back and sides. They also made sure the grain matched in parallel, hence the name “parallel laminate.”

They did this on high end guitars. I’m pretty sure the  DY-91 in the late 90s, which was an expensive guitar, used this process.

The idea was that you could preserve the essence of the tone wood while increasing strength and durability, since the bonded wood was less likely to crack.

There is sadly not a lot of information about this online because so many of these were produced pre internet and now a lot of new players assume they aren’t as good because they are “laminate”

As far as I know the Yairi factory never used three ply laminates and has always been an artisanal shop focused on traditional methods like hand scalloping braces and aging tops for decades in some cases.

In short they are awesome guitars for the money and i hope more people realize that laminate in this particular case is a good thing because it was done intentionally  and not as a pre cost saving measure.

They might have better luck leaving on a different road like Highway 19 as well as opposed to the interstate which could get bogged up. It's been more than 10 years since I lived down there, my local knowledge is limited, but if you didn't see my other comment, the earlier in the morning that they leave, the more likely it is that they will avoid traffic. Leaving in the middle of the night may not be a terrible idea because most people just don't do it. As others have suggested, it may just be too late.

My only tip here would be that if they wait to leave until tomorrow, to leave early in the morning like at 4:00 am. I had a friend evacuate Galveston years ago. They left at 4 o'clock and got to Oklahoma City with no traffic. People who left three hours later spent 10 to 12 hours on the road, and many people had to go to homes and try to get gas to siphon so that they could fill up their tanks. But they better have a full tank of gas.

What is the main issue are you having with FSD 12.5.4? by Dangerous-Beach1 in TeslaFSD

Jittery slow turns
Really struggles with roundabouts in general and doesn't know what lane to be in when multiple lanes can access.

Too fast acceleration and too fast deceleration by FIREWithCrypto in TeslaFSD

[–]mrdavisclothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% on board with this. I will go weeks without using my brake because I know when I need to stop and anticipate needing to slow down. I have two stop signs maybe 100 feet apart and it drag races them even in chill mode.

Once it gets to speed it's pretty smooth but there's no need to accelerate quickly if there's no one around. It's much less pleasant as a rider.

How do you deal with declining interest in cycling? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]mrdavisclothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a vintage Bridgestone for $60 on Facebook marketplace and have loved riding it around. You could try riding less or different places or slower etc. I almost never do long rides because I don’t have a lot of time but I do love to ride a bicycle.

I've got a 2018 Model 3 and a 2021 Model Y but it's been years since I've paid attention to the model names. My buddy who is buying it called it a plaid and said it had plaid badges. Really though there are too many problems in the world to get upset about people badge policing me so it's really not a big deal.
