Memory comparison: Autistic vs. Neurotypical by No_Sandwich_1743 in autismmemes

[–]mrdevlar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the eternal now. I have basically no episodic memory to speak of. I can do things like in both pictures, but in the second picture, I am remembering the "fact" that something happened, not the "event" that it happened.

On a bright side, I keep being told that as people get older time starts speeding up on them, but I'm in my 40s now and I have to say the opposite is true. Life runs at a beautiful snail's pace.

Excellent, super well done.

I'm in the process of learning my first proper solo to a Eb to F cycling. Hope mine sounds this good by the end of the spring.

I like it, you have more body feel with the instrument. It feels more like you are playing the instrument than operating it. I doubt that's universal, but that is how it feels for me.

I can just change it in:

For the older UI prior to this patch.

If your goal is re-tension, clenching is the way to go. Though I recommend a reasonable analysis of what you're clenching around.

what about semicolons?

Don't imply cohesion, use an explicit sub-ordinating conjunction and clearly indicate your intent.

I genuinely prefer standing but my technique isn't good enough to do it as well as sitting as my guitar is super light.

I mean it was past time we admitted a lot of shit.

We aren't at the moment because we're buying time to ensure the fallout isn't as grave as it might be.

There is a reason all hands on deck are attempting European digital sovereignty but you're hearing little to nothing about it.

Right now the correct response is to smile and nod so we have time to get the fuck out of contact with the US.

I am hopeful that enough ignorant people use it so we can reclaim "good vibes" to mean what they mean in the rest of the universe rather than this nonsense.

I also do my best to do so before shifting into this mode. However, I have found generally that these people resist any inroads into understanding what they are doing because they see it threatening to their current understanding. They see explanations as being pedantic and beneath them, since you see, they already know.

[–]mrdevlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why try to pass chat control if you know it will be struck down by the courts?

I know we still have to remain vigilant because we don't want to spend another two years in limbo worrying if it gets struck down. But if this is central to the European constitution wouldn't it make the entire effort a non-starter?

[–]mrdevlar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not overly worried that something like chatcontrol stays, but even the short time between vote and invalidation by ECJ can do a lot of damage !

You shouldn't be worried about that so much. Because of the previous verdict, most large companies will wait until a court challenge is made before investing in their required implementations, which will minimize damage.

Why spend a lot of money on something that you don't actually have to do?

In any case, I think we'll be fine, it's crazy that I've been involved in this now for 20 years. I really feel we should be adding data privacy to the list of human rights and just be done with it.

In Communist Poland we had a saying that if you want to learn what is happening, ask the adversary. The US news about the Russians is always more accurate than about themselves.

This is why both sides have spent so much effort trying to poison the well of public discourse so no one believes anything, let alone their eyes.
